Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe. Problem is that his value is really going to be low again assuming his playing time really drops.
Some teams will see games like these last two as who he is. Others will see his stretch of games after being re-injected into the starting lineup as indicative of what they can get out of him. Especially as FA moves along, as an athletic 26 year old wing making 10 million per for the following two years, his contract is going to work in his favor value wise, not against it.

Maybe. But all it takes is one GM to think he can resurrect his career in a new place type thing.. if this scenario plays out. And I too think he's the odd man out when we are fully healthy.

Regardless, it'll be a very interesting offseason.

Much more than last year.

I think Shump has a hard time finding minutes in the playoffs, Who do we sit?

Kyrie, Jr, Lebron, Love TT start

Korver, Derrick, Derron, RJ and Frye or Bogut are the 5 in the 10 man rotation.

Even then, typical playoff is 8 man rotation.

Last year we only played 9 guys double digit minutes, same 9 played in atleast 17 of 21 games, I see shump as our 10th or 11th guy if fully healthy.

Just shows how deep this team is when healthy and Deron, now add Bogut, crazy.

Well if he bottoms out completely at least we can use his 10 million dollar contract to match salaries in a trade.

Hope he can bounce back but I wonder how much opportunity he'll get when JR returns.

Big lineups effectiveness against GS will determine how much Shump plays IMO. Good d tonight.

From Fedor at the PD:

After averaging 9.9 points on 46 percent shooting, including 44 percent from beyond the arc and appearing to settle in to his starting role last month, Shumpert tailed off significantly in February.

He finished with 5.3 points on 28 percent from the floor, including 28 percent from 3-point range in 26.9 minutes.

It's interesting (and not entirely coincidental) that Shump played his best when the team was skidding sideways in January, and at his worst when the team went 9-2 in February. Clearly the Cavs don't need him in order to win.

I suspect that once JR returns, Shump will return to the bench and have his minutes cut significantly (perhaps very significantly if Lue sometimes runs a lineup of Deron at PG and Kyrie at SG).

With all these new additions, Shump better start taking defense more seriously or his ass will be glued to the bench.

You put him in to guard Thomas, he has one job.

First chance he gets he goes under the screen. And Thomas buries the 3.

If he's going to be a defensive sub, I'd rather Liggins just clean take his job. At least he, you know, plays defense.

He was dreadful against the Celtics. That was a bad sign for his minutes and role in the playoffs.

I just want him gone in the off season, I can't take his constant yoyoing of Decent play and utter shit play, take anything you can get.

He's freaking gone in the summer. And he should be.
