Jared Cunningham

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watched that 31 point scoring game, my parallel is Jarryd Bayless. I guess somebody can talk themselves into Cunningham as a combo guard, but he is more of a shooting guard in a point guard body. Luckily I really think this team could use a guy like that. I don't believe he will be a part of the rotation in meaningful games, but if the Cavaliers want to rest the more valuable scoring guards like Kyrie and Mo against lesser opponents, let the kid get some burn.

Lots of these types in the NBA, but as far as body sizes go, he's at least a decent height. Average length, though, and not a big guy by any means, but so many guys who are really shooting guards and play point are in the 6' and under camp.

As of right now, I hope we keep this guy.

I haven't seen LeBron stand up and support another young player as much as he did for Cunningham last game. Even the 76ers commentators spoke on him at least being able to say he impressed LBJ. I hope he makes the team. Won't be surprised LeBron takes him under his wing.

its crazy how much hype a dude can get after one great game

preseason superstars are like 1 tier above summer league superstars

id give him non guaranteed $$$ if he can string together a few more strong performances

i wonder what he'd look like w the starters against starters. if i were blatt id give him a shot. what do we have to lose? we already know what JR looks like in the starting lineup

Cunningham earned getting a starting shot in the preseason w/ that 31 point game. I'd love to see what he could do having LeBron, Love, and Mo passing to him.

This dude's game driving to the cup reminded me a little bit of Derrick Rose. Maybe he's not the freak of an athlete that Rose used to be; but the way he changes speed with the dribble, and the tear drop shots off the board.

His jumpshot reminds me a lot of Daniel Gibson's for some reason. It's timed up the same way Boobies was.

So essentially he's going to become a perennially injured, mentally fragile player who doesn't seem to have the same passion as when they first came into the league.

You forgot that he's going to be worried more about his health(MO MONEY) and family than his career..

So, how was he today? Couldn't watch the game completely. Just saw a few mins here and there.

He was aggressive, fast and looked at home with the veterans. Defensively he was fine, a few sloppy plays which is to be expected. Played surprisingly well with delly and had a great backdoor cut leading to a jam set up by andy. I think hes a relative lock to make the 15th spot

Pretty much a full recap of his game above, but he also got to the line 10 times. We could definitely use a guy like him.

Keep Jared/Daye Cut Harris/Cook.

Joe Harris is completely useless imo and not worth a spot.
Cook looks solid but we don't need him because we already have Delly,Ky,Mo that's more then enough.

Daye can be a solid backup in case Lebron/RJ are out, he can stretch the floor which is very important to our team and the way we play, plus hes freakishly long which is always good.

Jared seems to be the most promising, looking forward.
very athletic and quick, can defend and move his feet extremely well.
he has a ton of upside and untapped potential, I think he has the potential to become the next Shumpert with a better handle & better driving/finishing ability, he just looks faster then everybody out there and you can't teach that.

obviously there were plenty of NBA players who had crazy potential and never came close reaching it, so we just gotta wait and see

Can we send Joe Harris to Canton for an entire season? That would be ideal, I don't want to lose him completely, but this Cunningham kid gives us something other than spot up shooting.

Sure we could, but he still takes up a Cavs roster spot.

But he's not a forward, is he? Size-wise and in terms of his background I always thought he was pretty much limited to being a 2-guard, did not have the positional flexibility to defend SFs. Am I wrong?
