Jared Cunningham

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
IMO, the only reason he gets a spot is desperation for size until Tristan is signed.
It is meaningless size, though. Guy can't guard anyone close to a forward and he can't rebound.

We got to the Finals carrying Brendan Hayward's useless corpse. Now that is a "In emergencies, break glass" big man. Daye can buy you 10 minutes if James Jones is wheezing on his hands and knees.

No, no, no. Let's not lose sight of how meaningless the second half of a preseason game really is. Cunningham should make the roster, but he is lighting up the opponent's second and third team. JR Smith has proven he can be a 6th man of the year candidate who has learned to play within the team concept with LeBron. I understand the Cunningham excitement, but temper it.

Oops I was talking about Harris. LOL talk about getting no slack. 10 years on the site and people really think I want to dump JR Smith for Cunningham :cha (40):

Fair enough, certainly an upgrade over Haywood. I suspect we have better options for an emergency big man at the trade deadline than Austin Daye, but I'm certainly not going to scream to the rooftops about keeping Joe Harris, so if they keep him and Cunningham, no biggie.

Haha...it did read that way.

Cunningham seems like he'd be able to affect a playoff game with his unique & aggressive skillset. Austin Daye does not.

Never a bad thing to have a different look like that coming off the bench during a 7-game series ala Flip Murray.

Don't they need an actual big until Tristan decides to return? I don't consider Austin Daye to be even a combo forward let alone a legitimate PF.

100+ players will be cut before the regular season begins, and surely the Cavs will look at one of them to plug the hole. Tarik Black is on a non-guaranteed deal with the Lakers and would be close to ideal if he is cut. He's apparently got to beat out Robert Sacre (who is guaranteed) and Robert Upshaw.

The LA Times seems to think Sacre will be cut despite his guaranteed salary, so we'll see.

Oh, I am in no way interested in Daye making the team. The original post asked what people could see in Austin Daye. What the Cavaliers could see is size. Some people get hung up on Cook, who would be a 4th or 5th point guard, or Stephens, who is no more than a future Harlem Globetrotter or D-League Dunk Contest participant. At least Daye has something the Cavaliers might need temporarily in a non-guaranteed situation. That said, yeah I'd prefer the waiver wire.

You mean Cunny.

I think you both mean 'Cunnalingus Hamstring III.' Pretty clear he was trying to do too much in terms of playing for those fouls. Somebody forgot to tell him that there's only one James Harden, though.

If that's what we get tonight when Cunningham's shot isn't on, I'll still take him over Daye on the roster.

Cunnignham's not better than JR; that's crazy talk. But he'll be better than Dion Waiters by the end of the year, and it won't be close.

It is crazy to say that Cunningham is better than Smith at this point. Smith is a proven 3-point assassin, one of the best catch and shoot guys in the league. Cunningham has proven nothing. I mean, I want him on the roster too, but let's at least wait till he plays a regular season game before annointing him as a star!

cunningham reminds me of dion waiters without the ego, the dumb bbiq and bad defense'

he can get to the rim at will, trouble finishing.streaky shooter, when his shot is on, he can put up big numbers.

a smart dion who plays defense, i'll take it
