Jared Cunningham

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Quinn is going to end up on a 15 man roster if we pass on him.

The only reason he would make the roster is because of injuries, which I think is too short sighted of a move.

Guys like Daye have longer term roles and if I were choosing, I'd even keep Daye over someone like Cunningham because he can shoulder minutes we want to take off LeBron's plate.

I know a lot of people rag on Daye but he has at least shown he can be a respectable outside shooter and stretch the floor. He also appeared in about one third of San Antonio's games last season and played 10 minutes per contest. On days where we want to give LeBron the game off or severely limit his minutes, he's at least proven he can be a warm body who can play spot duty on a good team.

Yeah I wouldn't mind him that much but his Defense is own of the worst I have seen.
Also,, he looks like a bigger Stephen Curry.

This guy, and Daye (and to a lesser extent Cook) are the most interesting reasons to stick through these boring preseason games. I want to like Joe Harris, but I can't see how he belongs on this roster more than honestly any one of those three guys. Cook just doesn't have a spot because we are full at that spot, but he has a place in this league.

Anyway, I too think you release Harris and keep Daye and Cunningham. Harris only provides shooting and we have plenty of that. It doesn't appear to me his game has evolved at all beyond that. Cunningham really could crack the rotation especially while Shumpert heals, IMO. I wouldn't be shocked.

With Shumpert's injury plus injury history and JR being JR, I'd be shocked if we didn't keep Cunningham at this point.

I mean he's a better defender, passer, athlete, ballhandler, and shooter then Smith. I can't really think of anything Smith has on him other then his contract

Daye's defense is terrible. I dunno. Cunningham looks like best player on both sides.

No, no, no. Let's not lose sight of how meaningless the second half of a preseason game really is. Cunningham should make the roster, but he is lighting up the opponent's second and third team. JR Smith has proven he can be a 6th man of the year candidate who has learned to play within the team concept with LeBron. I understand the Cunningham excitement, but temper it.

It is crazy to say that Cunningham is better than Smith at this point. Smith is a proven 3-point assassin, one of the best catch and shoot guys in the league. Cunningham has proven nothing. I mean, I want him on the roster too, but let's at least wait till he plays a regular season game before annointing him as a star!

I'm not a Joe Harris guy at all, but I'd still keep him over Daye.

Daye's played almost 300 NBA games. It's pretty clear at this point what he can and can't do.

The most likely scenario is Cunningham breaks camp on the roster on his non-guaranteed deal, they keep him around until early January, then he's waived when Shumpert and, to a lesser extent, Irving are fully healthy.

Smooth shooting I think. His height seems to do nothing though.

I suppose his height lets him shoot over some defenders...like if Isaiah Thomas is on him, it gives him a slight edge in getting a shot off.
