Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I never understand the love for Derrick Williams...seems like a nice guy but he seemed out of control most nights
Maybe I am just getting impatient. Maybe there is more to come that is going to help us close the gap. Its just, as of now, I am underwhelmed. I do not have a lot of faith that Jeff Green will outperform RJ, even at his advanced age.

Its not like I am freaking out, I am fine with Green on a vet min for a year. No big deal. I am just getting antsy watching the Rockets, Celtics, Spurs and Thunder make big moves while we make hopefully lateral moves. I hope these guys are an improvement for the bench, its very debatable.
I'm not sure how much better the Celtics have gotten...Hayward is good but getting rid of Badley and Olynik hurts them alo I feel...especially Bradley...Kyrie is going to have a field day against them

I'm not expecting much from him no disrespect but I just look at him as somebody with height to defend kd. Like rj said on the podcast about not having bron guard kd because he is going to score regardless so don't tire bron and just put another serviceable body on him. So here's Jeff green and his 6'9 frame to put in front of him so he can at least shoot over a longer stretched arm. But if they get tony Allen that would be great

Not the right thread for this, but such a huge nit to pick about this...

In recent history, LAC had reasonable success guarding Durant with Chris Paul. Small bodied but agile enough to stay in front of Durant.

In game 1 of the WCF, San Antonio showed great team defense while LaMarcus fucking Aldridge checked Durant. And happily gave him every 15-18 foot jumper he wanted to take.

Why Cleveland played the entire finals, basically what I would consider "straight up" is Mike Brown ignorant (like Mike Brown letting Boston Celtic Rajon Rondo tear our asses up ignorant).

Anyways....carry on.

Perfect guy to have guarding Durant so LeBron can get a breather as well.
If getting outscored by 15 instead of 10 every time LeBron sits is considered perfect, then yes, perfect indeed.

LeBron then proceeded to buy these from Amazon:-

I absolute detest watching Jeff Green. Like totally detest.

Simply because there are few games where he shows just how good he could have been if he had put his mind to it. But those games are like once every couple of months or something. He makes Shumpert look like LeBron James in terms of consistency.

Every single last team of his has got him with the idea, that they can utilize his athleticism and make him a good player. But he has been poor for each of them. You can ask every single team he has been in the last three odd years and not one fanbase would have positive things to say about him.

I guess, the positive thing is, he is coming for vets minimum and isn't ancient than stone age. But honestly, at this stage we are scrapping the barrel for the positives. In fact, I would say the only positive to come out from this is, we know LeBron is talking with the free-agents and not AWOL. Sigh!

Really fucking hope Jeff Green proves me wrong though. Like fucking praying for me to be proven wrong. Because as of now, I am very disappointed with our recruits in the free-agency.

Have some faith. Lebron helped bring him here, I trust his basketball IQ. Javele McGee was a laughing stock in the league, and he was super useful on tr Warriors. JR Smith was toxic waste and he has done well with the Cavs. Good teams with great players make others better. Cavs needed some more athleticism and to get it for this cheap, I'll take it. It's a start.

I hate easy transition offense and length on defense for the minimum too.
How about half court offensive frustration and minimal defensive impact........... for another team ??

The guy is 6'9" and has been a pretty good player his whole career. granted he hasn't lived up to his draft position and hype coming out but lets remember, that the NBA is all about matchups and a guy who is long and athletic who also can put the ball in the basket for the VET MIN is a no brainer.

Just ask yourselves this, would you rather RJ try to guard KD again or a 31 year old taller more athletic (at this stage) player who can actually put it on the floor and finish at time.
