Jess Todd promoted, Veras Designated for assignment

I don't understand why he's not up here either..

But IMO, it's good that we find out what we have w/ Gimenez now.. especially w/ our other catchers we have.. Not to mention he can play multiple positions and is basically in a super utility role right now, so he's not really the problem or the reason why LaPorta isn't up..

Ohka is still here because once Masterson goes into the rotation, we're still gonna need a long man (unless I'm missing somebody)..

But 1 of these relievers is going to be gone soon, I'm guessing, so we should see LaPorta soon..

I'm pretty certain the reason is that they want to see what Marte can do. Marte's out of options. We can't send him down anymore. And after his year this year, he likely won't get through waivers this time around if we do.

They're trying to avoid making the same mistake with Marte that they made with Phillips... let a former top prospect go and watch him become a very good starting player.

Agree that Marte may be the reason..

But, IMO, Phillips never would've realized his potential here, he got off on the wrong foot w/ management & never recovered.. then there was when he went to the minors & refused to fix his swing.. he just needed a change of scenery

LaPorta is currently in a slump down in Class AAA, so my guess would be that they are waiting for him to get back on track before they call him up.

Also I was listening to Tom Hamilton on the radio and he was saying how much energy there is in the Indians club house right now. He says the guys are having a good time and getting it done on the field too. I think that is very good to hear considering we traded away our leader, I'm pumped for the Indians to start spoiling these teams on the brink of the playoffs.

Same exact thing as last year. Good lord...deja vu.
