Jim O'Neil is Frisco's Problem at DC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Browns hire Jim O'Neil as DC.. OC still TBA

JSS' head will explode, and I'll enjoy it very much.

@footballscoop: In Cleveland, Bills defensive line coach Anthony Weaver will be the new DL coach for the Browns per source http://t.co/sNnVtycOD5

Certainly could do worse than Shanahan IMO

Re: Browns hire Jim O'Neil as DC.. OC still TBA

Saying you're excited to pair Shanahan with Manziel because he had success with RGIII is like saying you're excited to pair Mike Brown with Tyler Zeller because he had success with LeBron.

Nothing about what I just said makes sense and neither does Manziel in an NFL offense.

It's really so silly.

I've said alot about this organization, but Manziel seems like the antithesis of their draft strategy.

With all the smoke that's out there about us and Manziel, I can't figure out whether Lombardi is a manipulative genius doing this on purpose or a bumbling idiot who can't plug a leak in his FO.

Either way, I'm hoping the Rams trade down and let someone take Manziel ahead of us just in case. If that happened, the tears from our radio personalities would be absolutely delicious.

Re: Browns hire Jim O'Neil as DC.. OC still TBA

My main concern is we are drafting a young QB this year that may or may not start but do we really want a guy in his lower 30's to be handling our quarterback after displays of immaturity and multiple reports that he and RG3 had no relationship whatsoever in Washington?

Scary, scary hire.

Really? Zeller:LeBron::Manziel:RGIII? I get your dislike, but pump the brakes a little...

Those radio stations should be burned to the ground already, I feel bad for the native Clevelanders that put up with them.

I have little doubt these reports of the Browns being tied to Manziel are mostly fabricated.

If you ask Lombardi or any other organizational source their thoughts on Manziel, the reactions are going to be overwhelmingly positive.

The typical, "Oh he's so exciting and we love to watch him play" is the stock answer throughout the league because nobody in their right mind is going to go out of their way to put a kid down at this point in the process.

It's just the way the game is played.

I wouldn't be surprised if Manziel tumbles down draft boards because A) Every team wants you to think they're high on him and B) Because he has very obvious weaknesses in his game which are obvious to any personnel department.

I've maintained all along that he's a third round pick with top five hype. Nothing seems to be changing that distinction, certainly not the hype.

As long as his dad isn't around to let him get away with whatever he wants, I'm down.

Without a doubt I can see that happening. Hou, Jax, Cle, Oak, Min are the obvious QB landing spots in the top 10. After that, the Browns at 26 is the next opportunity for a QB to be taken and then the top of the 2nd round for those teams previously listed that didn't take a QB in Rd1. If Manziel gets past Minnesota he's a top of the 2nd round pick most likely.

Depends on the quarterback. I think RGIII had an equal part in that... he seems to have gotten way more defensive and self-absorbed since he got into the league. Maybe between his newfound fame and Snyder pampering him he got a big head?

I mean, I can see Shanny butting heads with Manziel (mainly because I can see Manziel butting heads with anyone) but what if we get a guy like Bridgewater, Bortles or Carr who aren't as difficult to deal with? I don't see someone like Carr getting into it with Shanahan at all given his off-the-charts character.

To me, the OC hire is only as scary as we make it and pretty much everything gets scarier with Manziel at QB.

Re: Browns hire Jim O'Neil as DC.. OC still TBA

Bortles and Shanahan are just an excellent match, IMO.
