JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
An incredible piece by a surprisingly very self conscious and deep man, and interestingly enough, his part on love was so reassuring as a fan because that's exactly what I was hoping someone on the inside would say about him. Especially after the video from last night where lebron, KI, and love are all hugging/tackling(depending on definition). These guys are having fun, and they realize just how important they are to this city. It doesn't matter if JR is not here next year or if he never wins a chip here but he will forever be one of the most eloquent and misunderstood NBA players I have ever seen. Real proud of his development as a player and a person here. Hopefully he stays for a while!

Go back to page 1 then come to the end. It's hilarious. I've grown to love JR. He's a legend.

He seems to have found a home for basketball here in Cleveland.
I am curious as to how he'd react if the team faced real adversity- everything is good now.
But overall he's been the most pleasant surprise for the CAVS this year, hands down.

Remind me why Bill Walton isn't commentating anymore?

We have to suffer through his rambling flashbacks on the PAC12 network now. I yell "Shut the fuck up, Bill Walton" like 100 times a day during college basketball season.

Seriously. My initial reaction to the trade was shock. I've always thought of him as a dangerous scorer, but also a guy who just does the dumbest shit on the court. Those days seem mostly behind him...though we all like him when he hits 8/17, but what if he's 2/17? We haven't experienced that yet, though he seems to only shoot a ton when he's hot.

Exactly, so what's the problem? I know it's not what we've been used to at the SG position the last couple years, but believe it or not JR is actually a smart bball IQ player.

When watching the games, I notice a lot of little things that JR does on the court that helps the team win that aren't just shooting. LeBron (and to a lesser extent, even Kevin Love) have been a good influence on him in that regard.

My point was that its not a problem, haha. I think he's been great.

Missed the exchange with Blatt. Was it the 2 consecutive fouls that got him benched?
And is this the start of knucklehead JR Smith?

He had a silly frustration foul for a 4th foul, so Blatt benched him. He was playing like shit anyways and Shump was locking down on D, so it made sense for basketball purposes as well.

Smith and Blatt had a verbal exchange?

I wouldn't say so, JR has kept a pretty leveled head throughout the year. Smith's behavior and play in the post season will also determine how much he will be paid in the coming years.
