Keith Bogans to Cavs, Now Traded to Philly

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This could net a sign and trade star center like Marc Gasol next offseason. Wow. Griffin may be one of the best GMs(puppet to Lebron) I've seen in a while

So.... I have to change my pic now.

Down to 1 Canadian, my how things change so fast.

So yes, signing another star next off season possibly.

Wish list: Marc Gasol.

Can't be Gasol - he's a FA so he'd be a Sign and Trade. And there's no scenario where we are under the apron all season (which you need to be to execute a SnT) and still pay the big 4.

However, anyone who is not a FA is a possibility. And at this point with a $10m and a $5m (which can combine unlike a TPE), we can make a play under the rules for almost anyone at any salary, while still staying within the matching rules.

Obviously, Griffin views 2nd round picks as throw-ins & feels he can get them whenever he wants..

A lot to give up for a non-guaranteed contract, but if we can steal another star with him + Haywood's contracts, it'll be well worth it

So Griffin doesn't exactly win trades with Danny Ainge.

I mean the ends might eventually justify the means but 3 seconds(Powell included) seems unneeded.

Lloyd:

The Cavaliers are on the verge of acquiring veteran wing Keith Bogans from the Boston Celtics, a league source with knowledge of the discussions confirmed to the Beacon Journal Thursday night. ESPN.com first reported the trade, which ESPN reported is expected to include a trio of non-guaranteed contracts in Erik Murphy, Malcolm Thomas and John Lucas III.

The Cavs have been shopping for another rim protector to add to the frontcourt, but with center Brendan Haywood ahead of schedule and the market for bigs fairly thin, the Cavs packaged a trio of players who weren’t going to make the team anyway for Bogans, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward who has a non-guaranteed contract in excess of $5 million both this season and next.

By keeping Bogans and Haywood around all season, the Cavs will have about $16 million in non-guaranteed salaries next summer to use in another blockbuster trade. They already acquired Kevin Love in a mega deal this offseason.

LMFAO! So much for Griffin's claim that the Cavs were set for training camp.

From Reddit: Marc Gasol, Lamarcus Aldridge, Deandre Jordan, and Roy Hibbert's agents are all happy tonight. Another bidder for 2015.

I want to unlike the content of some posts. A couple picks??

Ainge must love when Griffin calls.

I mean, Griffin doesn't have to throw picks into every deal just for the hell of it. Now if we want to sign and trade for someone we have to include 1st rounders because I'm sure we are out of 2nd rounders by now.

The Cavs own the Celtics 2015 top-55 protected pick. Tell me they are sending that back just for housekeeping. Cavs also own the Clippers 2015 top-55 protected pick.

One can hope these things.
