Kendrick Perkins - Canton's Enforcer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm really hoping he doesn't come here. He's trash. I'd rather wait and see what else will be available.

I think Perkins is a must get. We saw last Thursday night how shorthanded we become if we lose a big to injury or foul trouble. Perkins isn't the greatest but for fucks sake, he's a better option then sliding Jones in at the 4. He can defend the rim and rebound. He's an old school player who will commit a hard foul rather then surrender an easy layup. We are going to need his defense off of the bench, especially if we lose Moz to foul trouble/injury. In the playoffs we are going to have to contend with the likes of Horford, Nene/Gortat, Noah/Pao, Zaza/Henson, etc. We will need his defense even if it's only 10 minutes/game.

If we can't get someone better (and we probably can't, unless Dalembert is going to come around) then I would definitely take him.

We are paper soft in the middle on defense without Mozgov. If Mozgov gets in foul trouble, we have problems. We saw that right before the break.

Perkins isn't very tall but he has incredibly long arms. His standing reach is something like 9 foot 4 inches, which is gigantic. And he's massive, and he's a decent rebounder. And he's an enforcer, a goon. This team needs that, needs guys with an edge to offset some of our lack of size and grit.

I would definitely take him. The biggest problem with him is that, with him on the floor, you're playing 4 on 5 offense. But we don't really need his offense, we need his defense and his bulk. And he's won a title, so he's been through the playoff wars before.

Also, if we get him then we have no roster spots left. Which means that if we are going after a veteran point guard or looking at Ray Allen then someone or someones will have to go.

Perkins can still play, however marginally he plays. Haywood can no longer play. He is just a contract that is occupying a roster spot at this time.

Another good thing about possibly getting Perkins is that between him and Mozgov, they would maul Pau Gasol. Gasol does not like playing against physical big men.

Maybe that's why the Bulls are going after Perkins themselves, to try to keep us from getting him.

I hope we get him! I just sense with Doc connection he will go to the Clippers

Why does everyone think playes gravitate towards coaches so much? They said the same thing about Garnett, and he chose freakin Minnesota. Again, Doc bolted Boston, so Doc is not seen as the most loyal coach out there. Regardless, where would you rather go: to a team that got beat home and away--and a beat-down away--to Cleveland or to the team that did the beat-down? The West is muddy; whereas we may be the best team in the East, a much clearer path to the Finals.

Well the way I see it I agree Perk would be good to have to We are getting Allen or Perk TBH who will it be? I wonder if the Doc connection will sway either of them. I still say we end up with one of those two.

Perkins is a really good backup C. Good to have on the roster for 15-20 min a game to give Mozgov rest. Pretty excited if this happens.

This is exactly why the Bulls are going for him. They saw what happened when Mozgov got in foul trouble in that last game, they want to ensure they keep that edge.

The Bulls don't even have minutes for him unless they want to totally bench Mirotic.

Some of you people don't get it... First off, stop looking at stats when trying to find Perk's impact. His impact goes beyond the numbers, he brings a toughness to our team, to the end of the bench, he brings insurance policy for a guy you can rely on to go in the game and play hard/physical while using all his fouls if Mozzy gets in foul trouble. Perk has been through everything, multiple championship runs, he knows what he's doing. So please, stop looking at stats to try and find why we want Perk or you will never find what you are looking for.
