Another exhibition game vs Puerto Rico tonight.
Another great game from Kyrie? I think so! ;)

And to think people wanted him traded a couple months ago.

Prediction: Kyrie will be widely seen as the best point guard in the NBA after this season.

By the way, I was watching some of that scrimmage, the one George Paul got hurt in. You can't tell me he doesn't have it in him to be a pretty good defender. I saw him harassing Curry, and doing a good job. It's just effort with Kyrie, and clearly he's not wanted to really play defense thus far.

Hm, don't really believe he'll be the best point guard after next season, but Top 3 (behind Paul/Curry) would be HUGE!

I think if he wins a title, and guys like Paul and Curry still have a goose egg, then perception changes fast.

I've always maintain Kyrie is every bit as talented as those two, he's just not won anything at all, so he can't be considered in their class. And he has the reputation of not always bringing it. If he can shake those two things, he very well could be seen as the best. Definitely among the best.

And I don't wanne argue that at all. Kyrie has unreal potential and such a polished offensive all around game...
But: Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Paul and Curry are the best of the best. And what makes you one of the best? Key elements like leadership, consistency and effort on offense AND defense.
Kyrie hasn't really shown all of this on a nightly basis - that's why he is very, very good, but not ELITE yet, imo.
So I'm not saying he can't become the best point guard in the NBA. I believe he'll be the best point guard one day.
But it takes time. And if Kyrie will be regarded as a Top 3 guard after next season, that would be a huge success for him!

Curry does not bring it defensively every night.
He's 22 years old and will have lebron james as a teammate so leadership won't be as important.
He's just as good as cp3 and curry offensively and will be even better with the players he will around him.

Kyrie is younger than both. Steph Curry took years for it to all come together. And to be fair to Kyrie, sure he needs to grow up, but we've put him in bad situations that have yet to make the transition easier. It's not all Kyrie.

Talent wise he's definitely in their league. He has all the talent to be the best, that doesn't mean he is. He's not right now. No arguments at all.

If he can't grow both personally and as a player now, then there's literally no hope for him. He gets a pass from before. Especially last year. It's okay if he wasn't the leader we needed at age 21, or 22. Few really are at that age.

I remember leadership often being questioned (not to the same degree) with LeBron at times at that age. There's a million different ways to lead, and it's hard to expect someone that young to be the guy veterans, and everyone around them to look at all the time, when they themselves are still learning as they go.

You both are making good points.
And again: In my eyes, it's far from impossible Kyrie CAN be the best point guard after next season. But it really is a long way, not because Kyrie has still so many holes in his game but mainly because Paul/Curry are (and will be) that good.
Anyways, we'll see. But give Kyrie time. In a few years there is no doubt he'll be in the conversation of being the best point guard, or even best player, in the NBA.

got worried for a second his legs got caught up with a defender
