Your punctuation, grammer, and use of slang make your posts exceedingly ugly.

"Win -> No Applical Data" :chuckles:

wow, thats actually pretty good, but "Go Live In The Middle Of Nowhere" and "Devolp an Arrogant Attitude" can be applied to pretty much any midwestern college.

Northwestern?

naw Northwestern is in Chicago i believe...any college in the midwest (yes ohio state included) are in the middle of nowhere, what the hell do you do in a land locked campus? are there mountains to ski at? you sure as hell cant sail on a damn frozen lake...but ND takes the cake...seeing as how they are in damn Indiana.

Northwestern IS in Chicago, one of the coolest American big cities to hang in. It's not in the middle of no where. That was my point.

Allright I've never really understood why people hated ND so much...Now i know.

Here's my formula for ND's demise.

After all the BS hype that Quinn got and sucked + all the ND fans chanting BSc then getting killed by USC anyway + Weis and his fatness + getting manhandeld in the Fiesta Bowl last year by tOSU Buckeyes + soon getting dominated by LSU = ND is finished!!!

Quinn can't play in big games. MSU's O cost them the game even though Quinn was lights out...against MSU. USC and UM...not so much.

This is of course until next year when their RB OR WR OR QB MUST be the Heisman and anyone who says otherwise is wrong...:)

And a side note. I had to stay in a hotel about 5 minutes from ND once...worse Chinese I've ever had.

Did you see them mention during the Heisman ceremony how one ND player had won the Heisman on a year when the Irish had a losing record? To this day, ND's the only school that's managed to pull that off.

This awarding of the Heisman elevates THE Ohio State University to the upper levels of the pantheon, garnering the school’s seventh Heisman to match Southern Cal and Notre Dame. Which serves to remind us that the Irish used to have a helluva football team. They had six winners in the first 30 years of the award and one winner in the last 40 - Tim Brown in 1987.

...

There is a lot to like about Brady Quinn, the nation’s 14th ranked quarterback and winner of this year’s Maxwell Award as the best all-around player. Here are seven things just off the top of my head:

1) Despite the soft Domer schedule, Quinn did put up admirable numbers, some well after the games were either won or lost

2) He is a Columbus boy so we should cut him some slack

3) He isn’t TOM Brady so we should cut him some more slack

4) His sister married well

5) It’s lucky he didn’t end up at Ohio State or he would have been battling Zwick for playing time behind Troy Smith :chuckles:

6) He will do better when he gets to the NFL and away from Chunky Cheese. Talk about “all a-round”…)

7) The man took a beating behind those offensive lines (and, no, I am not talking about Charlie here…)

...

The other awards

Outland Trophy (Best Lineman) – Joe Thomas, Wisconsin

Doak Walker Award (Best running back) – Darren McFadden (Arkansas)

Biletnikoff Award (Best receiver) – Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech)

Jim Thorpe Award (Best defensive back) – Aaron Ross (Texas)

Lou Groza Award (Best place-kicker) – Arthur Carmody (Louisville)

Ray Guy Award (Best punter) – Dan Sepulveda (Baylor)

Coach of the Year Award – Greg Schiano (Rutgers)

Biggest Coach Award – Charles Weis (Notre Dame)

Biggest Whining Coach Ever Award – Llllloyd Carr (University of Mulligan)

...

Antonio Smith versus “Rudy Smith”…Once again, we address the actual Ohio State world versus the delusional world of ND. This time, by reflecting on the real life example of one Antonio Smith versus the celluloid example of Notre Dame’s celluloid-famous Rudy. In the film, Rudy finally made it to school, practiced ceaselessly and got in for a play in a meaningless game. Cut to real life: We have a kid (Antonio) in school on an academic scholarship, works out ceaselessly with the team, is a walk-on for years playing some special teams then – suddenly – becomes a starter as fifth year player – is surprisingly effective despite his diminutive size and is now looking at a possible NFL career. That’s Hollywood in Columbus, fans!

Tressel discussed fifth-year senior Antonio Smith who is a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s best defensive back. Smith is a former walk-on who earned a scholarship last spring.

1) Pete Carroll was reported as saying that the pass patterns Weiss used haven’t changed over two seasons and it was easy for USC to recognize and defend them.

2) The Notre Dame defense – looking forward to substantial improvement this past season - has not improved and, arguably, it has gotten worse.

3) The Irish offense also didn’t improve this year and the vaunted the receivers seemed to be going downhill not uphill (we’re talking performance, not their speed!).

We all pondered the possibilities of “what happened” and Charles (ours) came to the following conclusions:

Because of Weis’s arrogance, he thought that he was so good he didn’t need to constantly change and improvise the offense continually to adapt to the response of the other teams and coaches scouting him. As more tape unfolds and more study of what he does occurs, he gets figured out. Perhaps pride gets in the way of reality here?

Weis seemed to have hired a “who’s who” list of former head coaches, didn’t he? Well maybe that crew, individually, sees themselves as head coaches and not as position coaches. If that is the case, then he has collected a set of poor position coaches! Certainly the defense looks like it has gone downhill this year. The defensive secondary has worsened. The wide receivers are getting worse not better, IMHO. Brady himself looks less adept a little bit.

Weis has experience working with pros but how about 17 to 22 year-olds who need to be developed mentally and emotionally. Pros may not need this nearly as much as college players. Perhaps what worked for Weis on the pro level is not nearly as effective at the college level? Tressel’s approach appears to be outstanding and he seems to ‘get it’ when it comes to mentally and emotionally developing college players to get better and peak at the end of the year.

Just saw that Qinn actually finished third for the Heisman. I just assumed he was second, but not so. Apparently the Heisman voters noticed that ND didn't beat anyone either. :chuckles:

First off, the coach previously known as the genius of college football and the previously most, uh, heavily paid – Charlie Weis – could hear those chants again: “Over-weighted, over-weighted”. The Irish scheduled three good teams this year (Michigan, USC and LSU) and lost to all three by the combined scores of 132-59. The next time Notre Dame wins a big game will be the first time for Charlie’s Chosen. Remember when we had to fear the “give Charlie a month to prepare” threat? Well, he has been blown out of consecutive bowl games now so write off that piece of mystical tripe. In fact, he didn’t do much with the 20 minutes he had at halftime against LSU: NoD was out-gained 330 to 30 in the second half! The excuse thus far for the Frightening Irish? (In addition to the fact that Notre Dame just isn’t very good…). Just wait, they say, until Charlie gets his own players there in South Bend. Yeah, guys like Brady Quinn and Darius Walker and Jeff Samardzija were really slowing down the Chunky One. He will lose Brady and Jeff and 13 other seniors that started in the Sugar Bowl. And we will see how well he fares with the “next Ron Powlus” (Jimmy Clausen) at the controls. Prediction? He will continue to lose every game against good teams next year and win almost every game against non-service academy teams.

Others are starting new drum beats in the Irish jungle. It has been noted: the New England Patriots are still humming along, but ND has appeared to be slipping under the tutelage of Large Charley. And are the past ND coaching alum cutting him any slack? From an article in the Chicago Trib, Bob Davie blurted out, “When you lose to Michigan, you lose to USC and you lose to LSU in a bowl game by a significant score, there will be ramifications from that for Charlie Weis. I think the shine is off, to be quite honest," he said of Weis. "I know going around the country talking to football coaches, particularly head coaches, I think a little bit of the mystique is definitely off."
