Offseason Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't watch the game, but from description it sounds like they might have been saying it as in 'we want cueto (to stay in)' because they think he is that lousy they'd rather him continue pitching
Maybe it was. I couldn't tell. Some people thought they said we "love" Cueto, but I'm pretty sure it was "want". I'd respect that more at least.
Not anymore
Why? Because he is doing so well in the postseason he is going to get a bunch of money?

Not anymore

Where the hell would we play him at anyways?

Poor defender everywhere and not enough slugging to be a DH.

Someone suggesting that connection is crazy to me...makes no sense.

...so he basically sounds like the classic Indians signing? Hate to say it but that is why the national guys thought of the Tribe- versatile jack of all trades who, due to the warts you mentioned, would normally see his salary right in the Tribe's wheelhouse. His numbers look Just like what a healthy David Murphy was doing back in the day. Just be thankful this postseason might add a few dollars to what he commands and hopefully moves out of their range.

From ESPN:

3. Cleveland Indians. They could move All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis to center field -- where he played in college -- and give second base to Murphy or play Murphy at third base if they don't believe in Giovanny Urshela, who didn't show much in his 81-game trial.

Moving Kipnis to CF seems pretty far-fetched (not directed at you - just at ESPN suggesting that)

Yeah....and I don't get suggesting that we sacrifice the defense that helped turn around our season...Kipnis to CF and Murphy taking over 2B is a huge step backwards there.

That would be a such a blockbuster.

Carrasco and Chisenhall for Schwarber and Soler.

That's alot to think about as a framework.

I'm sure some will call me crazy for this but I'd have a hard time pulling the trigger. The Indians will be priced out of any front of the rotation starting pitcher free agent, so it's vital for them to have homegrown talent there. Dealing Carrasco away leaves you with Kluber/Salazar/Bauer/Anderson/Tomlin. I just don't see that group winning a World Series over the next 3-4 years. I do think a group led by Kluber/Carrasco/Salazar could though.

I would give up Bauer/Chisenhall for Schwarber or Soler, though I doubt the Cubs would do that.

The one misstep in your projection is not taking into account that midseason next year Aiken will be ready to take his spot as our ace

WRONG Aiken will not be up that early and you are putting undue expectations I him. He will be up no earlier than August and it will be in the playoffs that he assumes the title of ace of the staff.
