Offseason Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rasmus would be the next Brandon Moss/Mark Reynolds. Little pop but can't hit for a decent average. We have enough of those guys.

No to Rasmus.

Obviously yes to Heyward, but he's way out of the Indians price range. I think he's going to approach 200M total.

I would take Davis too, but he's going to get 100M at least too which way more than the Tribe would go.

I think people are forgetting that the option is Abe Almonte, whim I liked but wasnt anything more than average in CF defensively.

If the Tribe has to hand Rasmus a big deal then of course not. But Drew Stubbs was pretty valuable as a defense first OFer who hit enough to justify being in the lineup. What kind of deal Are we looking at? I DO have his god awful facial hair.

Byung-Ho Park posting came in at 12.85 million...pretty much guarantees it's not the Indians.

Hoynes sounds like he wants Gordon to play for the Indians....

What would the price range be for Gordon anyways?

I saw they put in a blind bid, but obviously didn't come close to the winning bid.

Oh yeah Hoynes, another left-handed bat that's gonna hit about .270 with 15 homers is definitely the cure all for the Indians offense.

Gordon's value is almost entirely tied to his stellar defense in the outfield and above average base running and with him heading into his age 32 season, it would scare the shit out of me to commit 4+ years to a guy like that especially considering he's not a world beater with the bat.

I keep having horrible flashbacks of the Michael Bourn signing. A guy who posted a 6.0 WAR the year before we got him based almost solely on the back of his speed and defense, who then became entirely useless as declined athletically.

Gordon will probably be fine in 2016, but I'm just not interested at all in paying a defense first guy 17M+ a season (what he'll likely command) as he creeps into his mid 30s.

Yankees get Aaron Hicks for backup catcher John Ryan Murphy.

Really think Hicks can blow up in New York, he's an underrated talent.

Clearly Antonoff is just sitting on its hands.
