Considering most people didn't expect him to last even 10 starts (and I was one of them after his first start), to land any level of prospect for him has to be considered a win.

The fact that the Indians got 11 quality starts out of Carl Pavano was damn near a miracle.

Plus they avoided his incentives, which is another positive.

Newly acquired righthander Justin Masterson will start for the Indians on Saturday against the White Sox and take Pavano's spot in the rotation. The Indians acquired Masterson from Boston last Friday in the Martinez trade.
