Pavano to the Twins for PTBNL

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

After only one relief appearance? Oh well, I guess no need to baby these pitchers. Git em' out thar!

He ain't a rook, but I see your point. Hope he doesn't blow his fucking arm out cause I do think Masterson is gonna be a good pitcher for us.

No, not to get your attention. When my team is really, really bad I like to make light of it and make sardonic comments because it cheers me up and makes me feel better to an extent.

Damn, 46-62, we're better than I thought.

And I agree they would have accepted cash. Just, you gotta wonder what we'll end up turning Carl fucking Pavano into.

You also made those same sardonic comments about a REALLY bad 66 win Cavs team....if I remember correctly :chuckles:

No, not really.

With the Cavs I always tried to be realistic; for example, when they weren't beating good teams, I was eager to point that out despite people telling me "it was nothing" yet look at how they ended the season versus the elite. I also picked the Magic to beat us and yacked on and on the whole season about how bad of a match up the Magic were, and everybody laughed at me. And no I wasn't the only one. I'm not trying to be a martyr and say I'm always right. There were other people saying the same thing about the Magic, the same thing about the elite teams, but they were drowned out by the dozens of people telling them to shut up because the Cavs are the best team in the NBA. ;)

With the Tribe, I'm well aware Masterson is a good cat, I'm well aware Hagadone could be good in 2013, I'm well aware we have some great young talent coming up but the state of the team right now has me pretty disillusioned so I'm going to rip on them pretty hard.

I'm sure most of us were ripping on the Browns after last year, shit I see people ripping the Browns in the Cavs section all the time, asking why people still show up for that drivel. I mean, I agree, but let's not get a double standard going here.

Going waaaaay off topic here, but hey, it's the Indians forum, not sure if the mods really care what goes on in this dungeon. :chuckles:

I'd be pretty pissed/disappointed if it took Hagadone that long to get to the majors. He's already 23 years old. Give him another offseason to separate himself from his TJ surgery and he's a prime candidate to get fast tracked through the system when you consider his age and his ridiculous stuff.

If he doesn't have the TJ surgery, he's in AA this year and AAA next year for sure. I bet at some point next year (maybe late next year) he makes it to Triple A.

I think, if all goes according to plan, that Hagadone is pitching in the majors for the Indians by 2011.

My awkward sense of humor again.

I think Hagadone could be up in 2011 as well. He has great stuff, and Red Sox fans were talking him up to me. I still think Masterson, Reddick, and Hagadone would've been a more fair deal but...oh well.

Even still, Chisenhall certainly has been coming back down to Earth as of late, declining in every month since May and bottoming out in July with a .241/.316/.719 mark.

I really hope he can sustain his power numbers and be a good player...but I'm just not very optimistic about him long-term.

Reddick would look awesome buried on the organizational depth chart behind Sizemore, Crowe, LaPorta, Choo and Weglarz.

This team acquiring more young outfield talent when we've watched Tomo Ohka make starts this year makes me think even less of you...

Good luck to Pavano. I guess he panned, in the sense that he was usuable with the occasional horrific outing. Only helps when trying to sign reclamation projects, which is about what the Tribe will be able to afford in the next two offseasons.

Probably gonna get an organizational guy, like the Mickey Hall guy they got for Byrd. This is one guy I am glad they saved the money on. And who knows, maybe he liked it here so much he would want to return again in the offseason. OK, sorry to do that to ya guys.

There is no difference between Masterson starting and going 3 innings and pitching in relief for 3 innings. No doubt the Tribe will have a member or two of the 8-MAN BULLPEN ready to come in after he reaches his pitch count. Plus he has already started 6 games for the BoSox this year, so he has been 'stretched out' for most of the season. Not to mention that he was their longman, no? The Indians are not a team that torches their pitchers so this doesn't worry me.

No love for Bryan Price and his 6 innings of 1 run ball in his first start for Kingston?

:chuckles:

Uhhhhhhhhh

You not realizing Sizemore is on his way out in a few years, that Crowe is a utility player probably, LaPorta could go to 1B, and that Weglarz and our other OF talent could possibly be busts confirms you're a fucking moron.

Because Bryan Price being replaced with Reddick is NOT a good deal for the Indians. Only Boobie, only Boobie.

If the PTNL turns out to be young, maybe 22yrs or younger, you can never know what kind of player they might be. The Twins might believe they had nothing much with him, so after trading to the Indians he becomes "something" much more. You can never tell with young players. I'm looking forward to knowing who he is. He could be the gem of the summer. :)

Can't wait to see Masterson start tomorrow

Exactly, except for the name calling. :) We have LOTS of young OF with potential. Don't forget about Brantley. I see Choo as a mainstay for quite a few years out in RF. I see CF and LF as up for grabs with many young OF's competing. We shall see who eventually wins out.

I didnt mean to go to the name calling but he irks me sometimes. He thinks less of me, because I made a logical point!

Wow! :chuckles:

Oh, I forgot all of our prospects suck and will never become anything more than utility players. While Reddick will most certainly go on to future stardom, even though he and Trevor Crowe have nearly the same OPS since Double-A.

Only our guys won't work out....anyone else's guys....GOLDMINE!
