Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If there's no cost, that's a really tough call. Bryant was better (although not by that much) last year, but Beckham was just a rookie. If he makes a leap, he may well be the better receiver this year. Bryant has a more reliable quarterback throwing him the ball, though.

Honestly, you're probably fine whichever guy you take. They're both generally considered top five receivers going into the season, and it's just impossible to say which one will be better this year. I'd probably go with Dez since he's a few years older and effectively has his place locked in as the main offensive weapon on his team with Murray gone. Plus, Tony Romo will have like half an hour to throw the ball every snap, which gives Bryant plenty of time to get open.

When it comes to Dez v Beckham, I'd lean towards Dez. He's got a track record of production, whereas we still don't know if Beckham will produce over 16 games with healthy running backs and Cruz back.

You win either way, I really like Beckham, but personally I'd go with Dez.

I'm just surprised there's no cost to keeping anyone. Kind of takes away the point of having keepers if you don't have to pay a price for them.

I also have Jeremy Hill. Any consideration to keeping him over one of the WRs?

Definitely not. Jeremy Hill more than likely wouldn't even be a first round pick in a fourteen team non-keeper league. Dez Bryant would absolutely be a first-round pick, and Beckham likely would as well. If there's no cost to keeping anyone, you've gotta go with your two highest ranked guys. That's what makes the choice between Dez and Beckham tough...they're both ranked in the top five for WRs this year. Hill is borderline top ten for RBs.

Hill would be the kind of guy you keep because you bought low on him in an auction, giving you a solid RB2 at a bargain basement price, which in turn gives you more money to spend on guys like Dez.

Do you know where you're drafting, by the way?

Did my first practice free ESPN draft a few days ago. It's a ten team league with standard ESPN scoring.

QB - Peyton Manning
RB - Matt Forte
RB - DeMarco Murray
WR - Jordy Nelson
WR - Kelvin Benjamin
TE - Julius Thomas
FLEX - Alfred Blue
D/ST - Patriots
K - Stephen Gostkowski

BN - Arian Foster
BN - Roddy White
BN - Victor Cruz
BN - Matt Stafford
BN - Duke Johnson
BN - Terrance Williams
BN - Jordan Cameron

As an aside, it's absolutely crazy how Julius Thomas' value has cratered in one year by going to Jacksonville. He cost me three bucks.

I took a flier on Foster since he only cost me two bucks, and then grabbed Blue since he'll presumably be the starter for the run-heavy Texans for about the first half of the season.

I like to do a couple of free drafts ahead of time to get a feel for what players are worth and get a quick refresher on who went where in free agency and how that affected their worth. This league had a couple of guys on autodraft, so it kind of fucked up values for everyone (and made it really difficult to get bargains early, which is annoying). I wasn't able to get some of the guys I was targeting because of that, but that's generally not something you need to worry about when you're doing a draft with your friends in a paid league.

Except Hill is a legit RB1 lol

My general point was that Hill is borderline top ten at his position. Dez and Beckham are top five. They are the elite at their position. Hill is not. He's good, but he's not a top five guy.

Further, I wasn't saying that Hill was a RB2 overall. I was saying that he's the type of guy you keep in an auction keeper league because you got him for really cheap the year before, thus making him your RB2, as keeping him gives you the capital to go after an elite guy to be your RB1. Kind of like how CJ Anderson is a RB1, but on my keeper team he's my RB2.

I've got to keep 2 guys for my keeper league... my options are

Jamaal Charles
Dez Bryant
Odell Beckham Jr

I gotta keep Charles but between the other 2, what do you think?
I'm keeping Dez.

You have to keep Dez & Charles. Dez has proved himself. Guy is a freak. If Cruz actually comes back healthy, you still got Randle. You have Donnell and now they have Vereen as their pass catching RB. I am not saying OBJ is going to be a bust, but the safest pick would be Dez.

And it also depends where you got Hill. I think Hill is going to have another good year. Depending who is keeping who, and what draft position you have, it may benefit from keeping Hill. Say you got Hill in the 10th last year, that is a steal. Then you could use your first 2 picks on WR's.

Keepers are so hard to ask advice for in here b/c we have no idea who everyone is keeping in your league. and what round everyone was in & what draft position you have.

But not knowing hardly anything, Dez & Charles.

Since Odell is being discussed... I'm in a 12 team, standard scoring, dynasty league where you have 1 keeper mandatory, but a 2nd is optional. You can either keep your 2nd guy and lose your 1st round pick, or just go with the 1 keeper and re-draft in the 1st round. My pick in the 1st would be 3rd overall.

That being said... My keeper options are Odell Beckham and LeSean McCoy. I'm leaning towards Beckham pretty heavily right now as my mandatory keeper over Shady. I'm also leaning toward releasing Shady and re-drafting, especially because I can always re-draft him anyway and would like to keep my options option. Likely available key players would be: Matt Forte, CJ Anderson, Julio Jones, Jordy Nelson, Rob Gronkowski, and Shady.

Also, with it being a dynasty league I acquired two additional 3rd round picks, as well as an additional 5th and 6th round pick for this year since you can trade future draft picks in trades. I had a rough season last year with having the most points scored against me and decided to become a seller despite having a lot of talent on my team (traded away Jordy, Julio, and some others) to build toward this year.

So, all that being said.. what are your guys opinions... would you keep Odell over Shady? Shady over Odell? Or keep both and lose my 1st rounder? And if only one is kept, who would you target in that above list of names?

Personally, if CJ Anderson is there he's my guy. If not, and I assume he won't be with me picking behind two other people, I'm strongly considering taking Gronk, who would give me a huge competitive advantage over any other TEs, and using my plethora of early draft picks can stack up on RBs and WRs. I hate the idea of going into the 3rd round without a sure fire established RB1 on my roster, but love the idea of having Gronk and not worrying about TE this year. Especially when I have some reservations on both Forte and Shady this year. If for some reason someone grabs Gronk I can always just bring Shady back into the fold, or grab Forte, and live with that.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but it's obviously not an easy decision, and many different directions can be taken. Looking forward to some of your guys thoughts.

Can you continue keeping past this season? If so, no brainer Odell Beckham. Even if you can only keep for one year, I think it's still Beckham. Then just snag RB's with your picks.

Yep, there's no limit on how long you can keep someone.

I'd take Beckham over McCoy this year, especially after Shady's entirely mediocre 2014. It's tough to call how effective Shady will be this year, though. He's on a new team, but that new team also has a new coaching staff, so you really can't say with any certainty how they'll compare to last year's team. I do know they were 25th in the run game last year and 26th offensively, but again, who knows how much of that could change with their new coach?

Still, in a dynasty league, Beckham is almost certainly the better option. He looks set to be a top five receiver for years, whereas we don't really know if McCoy will ever be a top five back again.

Hey guys looking for some strategy advice. I'm in a 10 team league and have the 8th pick in the draft. I'm assuming that by my pick the top 4 running backs are going to be gone. Do i take the best wr? Like brown Dez obj etc. I do i take the top rb on the board? I'm thinking about doing wr gronk in the 2nd and rb in the 3rd. Is it to.high to take gronk? Or instead of gronk do I take luck or Rogers of they are available?
