I see a lot of hate for Amazing Spider-Man 2, so what is everyone's worst superhero movie of all time?

I'd say Batman and Robin are on most people's list. That's a given.

But man, the newest Superman was just really, really bad. Plot is here. Plot is there. He goes from hiding himself from the world to having the damn suit on in like a 5 minute span. Zod has some of the cheesiest damn lines this side of Adam West's Batman. Woo it was bad. Will not be spending a dime on the next Zach Snyder superhero flick.

Honorable mentions to the Tobey Macguire Spiderman movies, with a special nod to the third. That thing sucked. The non Edward Norton Hulk was also pretty terrible.

Batman and Robin is much worse than the new Superman imo, so is Daredevil. the worst is Green Lantern though...

The majority are awful.
The Man of Steel - knew it was awful within the first 5 mins. I tried to watch it 2x, but figured if I have to force watch it, it's not good to me.

I saw maybe 10mins of the Green Lantern - I really have no comment on how bad those 10mins were.

Haven't seen either new Spider-man movies, don't care to. They are all one in the same. They go for big special effects and the story is secondary. How many times can they re-tell Superman/Spider-Man?

I hate using the word "hype", but that's what superhero movies are. I've already come to terms that the TMNT movie is going to be awful-- the kids will love it, but it's another reboot/remake.

Name me one movie that has been remade/rebooted that did justice to the original? Doesn't have to be a superhero movie, because those tend to be awful anyways, with a small amount of exceptions.

Green Lantern was just a terrible movie. They hype up the bad guy (played by the smoke monster from Lost, apparently) through the entire movie, and then Green Lantern beats him in like five minutes. It's ridiculous.

The first Batman remake, the Keaton/Nicholson one, massively improved on the original. Although the camp value of the Penguin' submarine with little flippers was admittedly quite high. Anyway, I think the Christian Bale reboot improved significantly on what Keaton/Nicholson had done, so that's a third generation improvement as well.

The 80's remake of The Thing was better than the original. So was the second version of the Ten Commandments. The original True Grit was great, but the reboot held up really well. Same with 3:10 to Yuma. I liked the Akroyd/Hanks version of Dragnet much better than the crappy cornball movie they made with the original characters.

True Grit
Oceans 11
Incredible Hulk
The Departed
Casino Royale

But I see your point

Iron Man 3 was horrendous for me, about as bad as Spiderman 3 (emo Spidey). Still, Fantastic 4 2 has to take the cake. It's like someone takes all the worst parts of superhero movies and stuffs it all into one.

I'd also add the Dawn of the Dead remake. It was totally different tonally from the original, but it did what I think a good remake should do, and that's something different.

OTOH, I'm not sure there's ever been a better zombie movie than the original B&W Night of the Living Dead.

Gouri, I respect your opinion more than anybody on this board when it comes to anything and everything.

Going to see Godzilla tonight. I'm PUMPED.

Here are a few I saw recently, from bad to great

The Counselor - it bored us so much we turned it off part way through.

Runner Runner - good idea for a movie but the writing could have been better.

Saving Mr Banks - I really enjoyed this one and plan to watch it again with my kids.

12 Years a Slave - outstanding movie about a terrible part of our history.

I did the same thing.

Great movie, but I was amazed to see how tiny the part was that earned that woman the Best Supporting Actress win. I mean, she was good, but wasn't onscreen very much.

Going to Godzilla tomorrow. Grew up loving all the films so I'm looking forward to it. Broderick version was horrible but this one looks very promising.

Anyone know if you can check this out in IMAX but not 3D? 3D still feels really hokey for me and takes away from the experience whenever I think of the films in retrospect.

I don't think so. I've never seen a movie in IMAX, but I believe it's always going to be the 3D attached to IMAX.

How is the IMAX experience?
