No, you're right that the best offensive FF players are not always the best players in the league. The reason I don't have a problem with offense is #1 because we have a LOT of offensive positions that can average things out and #2 the points are almost always correlated to impact on the field (not always, but a lot more than IDP). With a lot of these top IDP players, they are just players who get lots of tackles. IDP of 1-2-3 spots completely ignores a vast majority of the good defensive players. A CB who sets the all time interception record in a season but barely gets thrown at and thus gets way less tackles is going to get way less points than Kwon Alexander does because his stat keeper gives him 40 extra tackles then he has earned every year and he is the king of ganging up for tackles.
If we do what JB suggested and add a lot more IDP then it takes away a large part of my issue. Also, Landon Collins is good AF, I just dont think IDP points are fair in general. Is Landon Collins adding that many more points a game then Khalil Mack? I don't think so. On offense, there are way more ways to plan in order to make up for not necessarily having a top 5 RB OR WR or QB. With IDP, the way most play it, you either have one of the top guys or youre losing points to your opponent no matter what, every single week. Again though, if we add a bunch of IDP spots so that actual planning is involved, I'm way more for it.
