Report: Bucks to trade Joe Smith for Ruben Patterson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why do we have to hear this crap again???

The Bucks were better last year right? :chuckles:

We all saw how that worked out. TJ was the best player in the NBA last year, now he is a bum and they are better off with a guy that took forever just to make the NBA in C Bell.

Bogut didnt impress last year and now he is the starter without Magloire to take attention away from him, that alone hurts you.

I see them teetering to make the playoffs once again. 40wins.

The guy in your avatar is probably a better basketball player than Eric Snow and Damon Jones. You're in trouble. Help IS NOT on the way.

You DON'T WANT THIS defense Lebron!!!

Eh, this is a joke. We heard it all last year, except now you have zero credibility. TJ was DA 1 last year, now he is nothing. Magloire put you over the top, now he is addition by subtraction. Simmons was easily going to hold Lebron to single digits, now Patterson is going to do it.

You know that probably no one on here is taking you seriously. The Cavs fans on here all keep each other in check from going overboard about our players and unrealistic expectations. Perhaps what we need is not to get rid of you, but to get other, more reasonable Bucks fans on here to settle you down.

I gaurantee no Cavs fans would be as excited as you are about acquiring Patterson. I am pretty sure we talk about acquiring him last year, and the concensus was a big "No thank you".

Do want to be objective and discuss this or just talk trash about a Bucks team from 5 years ago, how every move is a great one and that Shannon Brown is a D-leaguer?

One more thing...my best impression of Patterson:

*ahem*

"You said it, man. Nobody f**** with the Jesus."

And the only one left on that team scored 13pts that season..

You barely got past the Hornets that year, and Eric Snow owned your ass in that conference finals..
DISSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Teams that the Cavs should respect:

Miami: Shaq still owns Z even if Shaq had one arm and was 60-years old. D-Wade almost cancels out LBJ (almost). Heat have far more depth, as well.
New Jersey: Own us for some reason. Big three of JKidd, Carter, and RJ always a handful for us. Very quick and get out in transition.
Chicago: We were fortunate to sweep them, 4-0, last year. We were 4-4 against them in LBJ's first two years. Now, with Wallace, they have a guy who can control the paint. Their guards kill ours.
Washington: We saw that although he isn't better, Arenas can certainly hang with LeBron. Caron Butler filled in for Hughes nicely, and Antawn Jamison is living up to his potential in the prime of his career. Losing Jared Jeffries will hurt, though.

Nowhere in that list would I put Milwaukee. Why? Because you have only one guy who warrants serious respect: Redd. The other teams have two or three All-Stars, former All-Stars, or guys on the USA national team. Detroit lost their edge when Big Ben left. It'll make a huge difference, esp on a team that nearly lost to us. Indiana is completely falling apart, esp now that they can't get Al Harrington. Orlando is still a year away.

It's just apalling that you see the Bucks as a serious threat. Let's see...Charlie Villanueva plus Ruben Patterson minus Jamaal Magloire all of a sudden means 48 wins. Re-signing LeBron + adding Shannon Brown and Daniel Gibson and only losing Flip Murray now equals 47 wins for the Cavs?

Wishful thinking, bro. I hope we catch you in the playoffs next season and bounce you in round 1. That is, if you make it.

One guy that deserves serious respect = Redd?

I guess the same thing could be said about the Cavs and Lebron. :)

Well, the Pipster is claiming that the Cavs will win 55-60 games. Let the "checking" begin. Indeed.

Hey Rimmage, as soon as the Cavs sign Gooden to his mega deal, let's discuss the salary structure of the Cavs both short and longterm. Don't think that Lebron's opt out has escaped my notice. Gilbert's pockets are going to look like rabbit ears soon enough.

I agree with your avatar...

*EDIT* I mean post... That was very good, and spot-on.

At 2:04 am It still rings true..Milwaukee Sucks...

Can anyone find the LeBron avatar where he crosses Ruben who slips falls on his ass while LeBron strokes a 3? Rep to whomever tracks that down.

TJ, I applaud your loyalty and passion toward your team. But you have to admit though that your claims are unproven, not wrong neccessarily, just not a given like you make out.

* I am a big Bogut fan. The kid can ball. However he is an average defender and non shot blocker. Team that up with Villa and you have a rather weak defensive front court. They will have decent scoring nights, but I see them really being destroyed by decent 4's.

* With a weak defensive front court, you need strong defense from the perimeter. Williams and Redd start and play mediocre at best defense. You would want to control the ball because you aint going to stop too many teams.

* You better hope Patterson continue his solid play for a month or two, then become a headache. Your bench has little scoring punch, with Bell hardly proven yet (good start though), Skinner and Gadz garbage points scorers at best. An injection of offense is needed here.

* It really isn't a very balanced lineup. You have a starting lineup very capable of scoring, but in general will give up more. Then you have a bench where there entire skillset is based around defense. No mixture of skillsets, just one or the other. This is why I dont like Drew is our starting 5. I could certainly live with him off the bech as a scoring punch.

* Now the Cavs preseason may not have achieved a great deal, but we are bringing back a proven squad capable when not healthy of winning 50 wins. I cant see any downgrade in performance from our "ageing" players. Z is coming of a career best season. Snow improved from a season past. Marshall was erratic anyway. Jones was pathetic, cant get much worse. Then we can add in more games from Hughes and Varejao. To me we stay at 50 wins at worst.

BTW Z haters, Z doesn't go too bad against Shaq. In fact Zo gives us more dramas.....

Mega deals get done...they don't hang up for 2 months.
