..are you genuiinely under the impression that I dont know that we lost 4-2? and are unaware that 'might have been', in the english language, is a phrase commonly used to more accurately describe an event than a flat number like 4-2 and give better context? and doesnt always mean 'it might have been, but didnt hapen that way?'

anyways, if your argument to all that I posted is based on semantics, and shitty ones that youre not grasping, you should probably not have it.

My argument would be that - even without our 2nd and 3rd best players - we were 2 wins away from a championship in our first year together as a new team. We were not starting this off-season from a place of needing huge overhaul.

When you take into account the benefits of a year together under our belt (improved chemistry between players and coaches, young guys got a helluva experience of what playoff basketball is all about, all the more likely we add more complicated wrinkles to both our offensive and defensive schemes), we should already have a lot going for us.

But on top of that we are likely to bring back our entire rotation (barring very surprising news about TT, Delly or JR), which alone will be the deepest we've been as this team (considering we've never had Andy on the active roster while Mozgov/JR/Shump were on the team). And we already began to add some depth as well in a much needed extra play-maker and shooter (Mo). By all accounts from RCF people who know these things, we're very likely to add another wing (Prince? Wright?) and a 5th big (Kaun? someone else?). So likely even more depth. And we're also likely to create that TPE which will give us flexibility to fill gaps as needed throughout the course of this season (or into next off-season if not needed before then).

So has this been an out-of-this-world off-season? Absolutely not. But it's been solid (esp. when you consider that we now have guys like Irving, Love, Shump locked up to very nice deals, especially with the upcoming changes with the new TV deal and players salaries) and can get better (whether this summer, or into the season), and we were already starting from a very good place anyway. As a post further up mentioned, Golden State changed very little with their roster this year, and went from a first-round exit to a championship. And unlike them, we don't have to face a gauntlet of Western Conference juggernauts to do that. Not every team needs to make enormous additions - as much as we all would've liked some dream of a deal to land in our laps.

So yeah, "we're not gonna win a damn thing" is far from truth from my perspective.

i dont have the warriors as the favorite. but they just won the whole thing and my argument is that its arguable we would have beat them healthy.

im trying not to be disrespectful, but the clippers and the spurs and the rockets also exist. so we not only have to worry about who we just lost to, but a handful of other really good teams that 100%, unarguably, got better.

before I go any fruther into this... this is now a several page long, heated argument stemming from a negative sasha kaun comment.

I'm not speaking to you directly with this, its a general hypothetical.. but what kind of reality do you live in where you think to yourself 'if i let this negative sausha kaun comment go with out saying something, everything will unravel and I'll be lost?" This has been taken so far out to the fences its out of contorl, and leaves one to wonder if such a debate about such an easy topic could be credited to the emotional commitment and investment of the team, and might mean they dont see things clearly all the time.

Dude don't get mad because you said some questionable shit on a Cavs forum and got blasted for it. You need to go be a Warriors fan of you really think this way. And also you try and use big words and say the other posters statement was based on what if semantics. But isnt saying that Golden State would've won anyway the same thing?

My comment was "sasha kaun will not contribute at all and is move made to make it look like we made a move".

Please bold the portion ofthat statement that is questionable.

You also clearly haven't a clue what "semantics" are, abd the portion of your argument following your usage of the Word is unsettling considering i broke down that posters response line by line explaining how an argument is bad of it is based on what the phrase "might have been" means, and you're still completely missing the point.

Also"semantics"is not a big word.

@David. Agreed that this debate unraveled. Although what I was commenting on sure seemed to be a comment about the entire team, not specifically about Kaun (which let's all agree, needs to be the focus once again in this Kaun thread).

But one final thing I'll say is that while I surely do have an emotional investment with this team, I don't think what I've been saying is really that biased or through wine-and-gold-colored-glasses. I never said we're a lock to in it all. Hardly any team can say that any year. But I do feel confident that we have as good a shot as any other contender. Perhaps the best shot of anyone because we're fortunate to come out of the East, and those many teams you referred to have to beat each other just to reach the finals. And I believe that we were already in a very good position with this roster prior to the off-season. This team when healthy was something like 33-3 with the new roster. That doesn't even take into account Andy (who I'll only count on as a decent 10 minute per game 4th big at most), Mo, perhaps 1-2 other rotation/depth players (let's say Prince/Wright and Kaun), and the flexibility of tweaking the roster with the TPE depending on what happens with this team and what is needed over the course of the 2015-16 season. Plus we'll finally start to gain what we lacked compared to all other contenders last year (experience and chemistry together).

Not only that plus everything else you mentioned...what I'm most excited to see is the increased usage of Love as the cog through which we generate most or at least a lot of our offense. It's going to be absolutely deadly.

Dude the whole I'm smarter than everyone here shit ain't gonna work. I saw wtf you posted and it was some disrespectful shit. Paraphrasing what you said "your argument is based on shitty semantics that you're not grasping and you shouldn't have it." You seem to think your smart so I'm not gonna act like you don't know that you were being disrespectful. This isn't your personal board where you can be an asshole and never get challenged. You may have vocabulary but that doesn't automatically make whatever you say correct.

His arguments weren't "shitty" and I'm sure if he was making them, he had a firm grasp of them.

You remember that we lost with kyrie right? And that our best +- lineups justvdidnt include him?

It mightvhave been two games away on paper but gs ended up consistently beating us by an average of more than ten pts a game.It was a great story and shocking thatvwe won two but they would have taken the next five straight. Refs and the nba would have made an extra 50mil with a game seven and we could only come within 8 with their help.

Yeah, the refs surely helped us by putting the refs that are pro-home team when the Warriors played and home and viceversa when the Warriors played on the road.

I've been intrigued by Kaun for a long time. No idea if anyone posted it, but LeBron and Kaun sat together Courtside for one of the last Summer League games with the front office. That didn't sound like a guy about to be traded away. It seems the leftovers from signing Mo were earmarked for Kaun if other trades didn't develop.

Does Christmas being traded have anything to do with a Kaun signing?

Eh, he's an end of bench guy. But, he comes with the potential of the William Shatner Kahn gif every time he screws up, so that's probably a good enough reason to get it done.

I wouldn't necessarily pigeonhole him like that, yet.

He's 30 and has never played an NBA minute. But he's also an elite center prospect in Europe - among the very best at his position in Euroleague.

It's practically impossible to predict how some of these guys will translate to the NBA, but (if signed) he's being brought in to play.
