Depends on who we face in the finals but we have a lot of big bodies to wear out opposing front courts. Two giant russins underneath the basket, gotta chase love out to the perimeter, tt w his nonstop rebounding and andy annyoing you and playing physical.

Kaun should pair very well with Love on the floor. Love will pick up the slack on the rebounding while Kaun is contesting everything around the hoop. Love also keeps the floor open with Kaun having no range outside the paint. The bread and butter 1-5 pick and roll continues on with Kaun. The only other guy that I could see pairing nicely with him is LeBron at the pf however. None of our stretch guys would provide enough rebounding next to Kaun, and Tristan would also shrink the floor.

I know we are tempering expectations and maybe I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but I feel like this signing has been a bit understated by some.

Might be better than Perkins? Perk couldn't give you a dunk, layup, rebound, or defense. Basically anything outside of a hard foul.

And he might be better than Perk? This guy is a polished finisher at the rim with a lot of athleticism to boot.
Yeah, he is going to play. The team clearly (and rightfully) isn't trusting Andy at this point. Timo and Tristan will be getting the lions share of minutes, but Sasha could prove very valuable when needing to go big and timo is in foul trouble or in need of a blow. Tristan most likely also won't be playing 100 % of his minutes at center either. I'm really excited to get a capable 2nd true center on this roster. 10-15 minutes of Sasha will be a very welcome addition.

Remains to be seen if he'll be any better than Perkins was last year, but seems unlikely that he could be any worse. Since he was a Cavs draft pick, he saves them some money on the luxury tax compared to signing a min salary vet or undrafted free agent.
And it reduces the need to look for another young big.

I meant because the actor who plays him is really named sacha baron cohen. It's the closest thing to a nickname I can think of.

Ah, sorry. didn't get that at all, my bad.

Like, they have to play a clip from a Chaka Khan track every time he makes a bucket, right?

"Tell Me Something Good"?

"I'm Every Woman"?

My lasting Pavlovic memory is LeBron hitting that ECF buzzer beater against Orlando in 2009, and Sasha runs up to hug LeBron as LeBron is running away from him. :chuckle:

My lasting Sasha memory is him splashing treys in dudes faces.

У твојим очима!

Why is it I had the impression Sasha was "Old"?
Moz turns 30 in July and Sasha turns 31 in May. :friendly wink:

He is old for a rookie, but Sasha was making some good money in Russia (3 or 4 million a year I believe).

Finally his American wife wanted to open a business in America, so he retired and took any job he could find in the US. Since we owned his rights, the Cavs it was.

i love this idea of retiring to the NBA, that is so very Russian

It is, but he is a dual citizen, so he is American too. He isnt as Russian as Moz, but his game was perfect for the Euro league as an enforcer in the middle. Here i expect him to be a slightly better version of Perkins, which is fine for our 5th big. (although as it stands, he might be our 4th big)

Yeah I remember us drafting him. His decision to move now is definitely 50% for his wife. She's 100% American although he can make more money in Russia a happy wife = a happy life and playing for a contender can't be bad either
