Yeah I remember us drafting him. His decision to move now is definitely 50% for his wife. She's 100% American although he can make more money in Russia a happy wife = a happy life and playing for a contender can't be bad either

I think its more than 50% for his wife. On top of that, i think he invested and saved well and was done living over seas. America is now his home, he went to high school here and he knows this will be his last chance to be a nba player as 33 year old rookies are rare. Further, i am guessing if or when they have kids he wants to raise them here, once again, making a further reason to move here.

See my earlier post.............Sasha turns 31 in May. Shades of Weeden being 40 years old when drafted.

Not even close.

Weeden was an amateur player until he was supposed to be a starting qb
we used a nfl first pick on him
he was brought in to perform as the most important position in sports

Sasha has been playing professionally for 6 years, he is only a rookie in title
we used a NBA 2nd round pick, a throw away pick to get him
he is a 4th or 5th big insurance policy, and might only see 100-200 minutes all year.
Nothing major is expected of Sasha.

Its like saying Rosanne Barr and Mila Kunis are similar because they both have vagina's

Now thats the kind of correlation we are looking for!

Except Sabonis is much more talented than Kaun. Not a knock on Kaun though, i think he will be a really good player for his role.

We will now be able to play a Russian at center 48 mins a game. Try to go to the hole on the cavs? Niet!!!

Sasha turns 31 in May......not 33. (Weeden was brought up to show how overstating a players age to fit an agenda happens)That was my point. BTW, turn off the lights and the difference between Rosie and Mila might not be all that noticeable.

If he stays in europe, it would be on another 2 year contract, thus the 33.

The fact he is 30 now, doesnt really matter as much because of his role, that was my point.

And even with the lights off there is a difference, not sure why i even responded to this nonsense to be honest.

I'd have to guess that Kaun got the guaranteed 2 years with no options because they don't know what's going to happen next summer with Mozgov.

WTF? Nice back-pedal I guess...........You wrote "this will be his last chance to be a nba player as 33 year old rookies are rare".
I have zero idea WTF is your "point".

My point is if he stayed in Europe he would sign for two more years, typical in Europe, and wont be eligible to come to the NBA till he is 33.

I don't get how that is hard to follow, not a back pedal just apparently over your head.

This is his last chance to make a career in the nba, although I am guessing a shortish career, ie 4 or 5 years.

NT needed.

His NT really could have used him this Eurobasket...
who would have thought Russia will be 0 and 3 and eliminated so early from this group.
They sure do miss David Blatt.
And from my Israeli stand of point - Damn! it seems that our coaches outcoach any other coaches in Europe - this time it's Erez Edelstein doing magic and Israel will play vs France tomorrow (the current champs) for the No 1 seed.
