Any chance this guy doesn't make the team? I just don't see him working out here.

I think he signed with us as a guaranteed roster spot. I think he'll be fine as a 4th/5th big.

Based on what? This isn't a team that's going to take on a project or young guy. Kaun takes on the true backup center role and hopefully is a better fit than Perkins was. He does well in pick n rolls and is familiar with Blatt. Probably nothing more than 6-12 minutes per game, but that is what is asked out of the 4th/5th big.

If we are healthy and Tristan is signed, he will get a bunch of dnpcd's, but I am ok with that.

I am guessing he plays in less than 42 games. IE gets more dnp's than gp's.

Where he will become valuable is probably in the playoffs when one of the bigs is inevitably injured (Andy) and depth is key.

Not sure whether he has a reputation for knocking guys on their asses when they drive, but this would be useful as well.

kaun was impressing in practice today

at one point kaun did something on the defensive end

the coaches started talking and blatt said "i told ya guys, i told ya he can play"

He could be a huge sleeper for the team, although I admit I was a bit demoralized when I saw the height discrepancy between Mozgov and Kaun in a visual. The gap seems to be at least 3 inches of height.

I'm pretty sure at 5'9 that I wouldn't even be seen in a photo of those dimensions posing next to Mozgov. When even LeBron James refers to you as a giant, then you have to feel pretty large and in charge.

Why are people so infatuated with how high the top of a players head is, as if they were using it to play and not their hands...

Kaun has one of the longest wingspans ever measured by the NBA (7'6")...he's more than big enough.

That means we're both taller than @Deezus.

That would mean his wingspan is same as Mozgov but his height looks to be 3 or 4 inches shorter. Not saying it means he can't defend or block shots, but he's just a bit smaller than I thought, especially since he's often described as a "seven footer".

I thought Kaun was 6'11"? Moz is over 7 feet tall I am pretty sure. He looks bigger than almost every center out there. I think he is closer to Z's height(7'3") than he is to 7'.

He's never been described as a 7 footer...ever...not even in college when heights are skewed so damn much (Michael Beasley anyone)...always listed at 6'11...his redeeming quality has always been his long arms...

And you can't find Timo's wingspan on any credible site (believe me, I've tried) so I don't know where you are getting that...most white guys have wingspans equal to or smaller than their height...willing to bet Timo's is just that

He is...I have no idea where Paul had ever heard him being described as a "7 footer"...I never have...
