Season repentance and forgiveness – The Truth and Reconciliation Commission

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Under the reasons for people not liking Blatt you forgot "because he is Jewish."
More likely, "because Maccabi-bandwagon fans were criticizing born-into Cleveland sports fans for not being real fans"?

I am a fan of players, but only if they are Cavaliers. I am unabashedly the homeliest of homers. I didn't follow LeBron in Miami, and I hardly care who is coaching just so we are winning and they aren't blowing it. Blatt isn't blowing it, yet, and hopefully he helps get us the ring. But we won't win it because of him.

Your fear of xenophobia is causing you to hallucinate. I am so done with this thread and its Orwellian title, think I'll go visit the Ministery of Love now. Bye.

I definitely have to apologize to Blatt and Delly. I still think he should have made a little bit of an effort to develop Joe Harris but the guys he was playing when LeBron was out are showing up big now. And Delly... Well when he was playing big minutes in the regular season I feel like he didn't do a great job. I think all of our concerns were valid, but they're doing a great job in the post season (minus a few things that are overkilled by the media and idiots around the world) and that's all that matter.

It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking, it can do no other, in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet.

Huh?

Ok. I'll be the adult in the house. Not biting. You win. Happy?
Nothing to see here.

Not sure if I need repentance, but I didn't think the Cavs had as much chance without Love. I was in disbelief (but still happy) about us winning the East.

With LeBron, had no idea if he would came back or not, but didn't care as long as we could win (still don't care for him much).

And besides that, I was curiously entertained. I'm of the belief that anything can happen in the NBA.

Moving on...

I was wrong in thinking that Delly would be useless in the playoffs so there's that.

I was right about Love, he was not essential for this team to be a title contender. We by no means had to make that trade.

My rationale of there only being so many shots in a game and a need for defense was dead on. Although I had no idea that the shooters/defenders we'd add be Shumpert and JR I still was right in principle.

Over half the forum once thought Kevin Love was a top 5 NBA player so according to this thread they should admit to being wrong.

Not starting a Love debate, assuming we can't trade him for LMA or a top 3 NBA draft pick, I want him to stay a Cavalier and for him to fit seamlessly with his teammates.

The thing that I don't think some of you realize is that LeBron coming back may have been predicated on us also getting Love. Now, there's no way of ever knowing if that was the case but you must admit it's at least a decent possibility, right? That he part of the reason he decided to come back was the FO telling him we could get Kevin Love? And if that's so, none of the rest of it matters. We could have traded away our number 1 picks for the next five years and it still would have been worth it.

I'm thought Shump was just another overrated Knicks product who wont live up the hype

Oh boy I was wrong with that thankfully, sorry Iman.

Let's say for argument's sake what you are saying is true. If I was David Griffin I'd spend all my energy trying to convince LeBron that trading for Love at that moment in time was not in the best interest for him or the franchise and at the very least they should wait until the price for Love came down.

Perhaps lying to James would be an awful way to start a new relationship but the Cavs could have just blamed the lack of a move on Griffin and fired him later on. We didn't owe Griffin anything and he was arguably not even qualified for the job to begin with.

The fact of the matter is that LeBron committed to Cleveland until he retires by writing that letter. He would not have raged quit if the Cavs did not make the move for Love.

By far one of the dumbest things you have ever posted on here. Like, so beyond asinine I have no idea how to respond.

Ignore.

Tell me how you really feel, man.

I could see how you'd disagree with the prospect of possibly misleading LeBron but I find it funny that the bold portion from my initial quote is what you found to be "dumb" and "asinine."

What were David Griffin's credentials coming into this season?

A political science degree from Arizona State University?

Years of experience working in the front office with the Suns and Cavaliers with the latter working under a GM that created a general consensus around the NBA that the Cavaliers were dysfunctional organization.

I don't see how it is unfair to say that David Griffin was not deserving of the job. Saying that he was not qualified may have been speaking out of turn but a lot of people around the NBA thought that they might fire him after LeBron came back. People thought that him being a rookie GM especially hired within the organization equated to him being under-qualified.

Had to put this up, it annoyed me when I first read it, but I have always been unashamedly biased.

Ahh statistics.....lies, damn lies and

Can I volunteer a repentance candidate?

I was hoping that this thread would not become some sort of a bucket challenge or a name and shame thread. It was meant for grown ups. People who play tough, with purpose and cleanly. Wolverines like Delly. People with confidence, who are not afraid to admit past transgressions. In public and without fear. Those seeking to cleanse their souls as they continue to enjoy the ride.

Having said that, just because that was my intent doesn't mean the thread has to remain so. It is up to the community.

Well I have been a non member reader/lurker for the past 2 seasons and managed to get rejected twice before I managed to join the forum (I'm not sure whether to compliment the site on its character filter or be highly offended.) Thus I haven't really contributed enough to have much to repent. Give me a year or so and I'm sure I'll make all sorts of fuck ups and post numerous diatribes full of unsupported rants and emotional biases. On this forum they will probably blend right in :p.
I will say that I have always been a staunch Delly fan and always thought he had what it took to make it in the NBA. Post his knee injury this year, when he was really struggling, I did begin to doubt. I'm significantly more positive he will now.

Seriously I'm enjoying it, if naming and shaming is out I will desist.
