Shurmur and Heckert fired (ESPN)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fuck that picture is sad. Get it outta here.

Please, please bring in Kyle Shannahan to coach this team. Can you guys imagine how amazing Trent would be running the zone running scheme that has made Alfred Morris what he is? It doesn't matter what kind of back you put there in that scheme, and one with superior physical skills is even better.

Shannahan is my number 1 guy I would want brought in, I just feel like it's not going to happen.

He's only 33 and has less than 10 years coaching experience...

Mike Shanhan is still calling the plays and running the offense for the Redskins, Kyle is his puppet similar to Childress here...

Just an FYI you do realize that the Shannahan's run a version of the dreaded WCO? It is a WCO with zone blocking principles the Shannahan version came from George Siefert in SF.

He is getting some traction.

Also Kyle calls the plays in Washington

That one play sits atop the first of a slew of boxes on Kyle Shanahan’s play sheet

It works everywhere. Houston it made Steve Slaton a 1,000 yard rusher and Arian Foster one of the best in the league. It made Clinton Portis into an animal. Imagine what Trent could do in the zone scheme?

Also, yes I realize he is young and it's unlikely he lands a HC job this year because of how young he is, but there has to be a lot of things he's learned from his father and I think he is going to be a good coach down the road.

Boy, would I kill to have Mike Shannahan here though.

I was just mentioning it because I know how a lot of people hate the WCO.

I've given a name twice now, Chip Kelly.

He's not going to run the same offense he does at Oregon, he's going to come in and exploit the matchups with the good young talent they already have.

Blowing up the offensive line for the spread option? With who? Weeden? Get outta here...

And people still have yet to explain how Cowher is going to come here now after passing three times already.

What with the prime example we've set by firing people for doing a good job (Heckert) I'm sure hell be so pumped about joining.

Chip Kelly is achievable, he's got to get out before the hammer falls at Oregon and he's a brilliant offensive mind.

Didn't you say Chip Kelly was "flavor of the month?"

The Patriots run a version of the WCO and look where they are?

Actually theirs is the Earnhardt - Perkins system. Has been that way for a while. Teams that run the WCO (or a variation of it)

Seattle (Darrel Bevel was the OC in Minnesota under Chilly)

Interesting little nugget..

*People around the NFL who know are convinced Jon Gruden is coming back to coaching this year, provided the right situation presents itself. I’ve been told Gruden feels he needs to come back now if he’s ever going to do it. He already has been away from the game for four years, and it becomes increasingly difficult for a coach to return the longer he is away. The right situation for Gruden very well could be in Philadelphia. People close to him think he has a good chance of landing there.

Gruden to Philly and Kelly to Cleveland? Done.
