So long, Kay Felder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Glad we got Kay, but the absolute best thing about 2016 draft was this.

Does anybody notice someones missing? :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

It did say ELITE POINT GUARDS so no I don't think anyone is missing.

Watched the Draft Express "weaknesses" video and was interested to see how he is especially reliant on his strong hand, which limits his ability to finish in traffic. If he gets a real shot with the Cavs, he'll need to master every drill that Kyrie uses to finish with either hand.

Is this the return of the infamous LHLD? ( Left Handed Layup Drills )

It's crazy to think we ate using the dleague the way it's intended to be used. Like the pick and I think given his scoring ability he will come in as just a guard.

Saw Sir Dominic at the parade, what's going on with that guy, when will he get "called up"?

Well, he is left handed. I watched some clips and he did use his right hand to finish. Has no problem going either direction.

wow, this was a brilliant move. Been tracking this guy for awhile as I love players that are my height. Super explosive and a hard worker. You almost have to outwork everybody else when you're so much smaller. Could get some minutes next season for sure. Between him and McRae, we have some explosive scorers as potential diamonds in the rough.

Bigger than IT...more athletic too...

Height doesn't matter...length, athleticism, skill, and smarts do. This kid is good, he can play...one of the only guys I saw in this draft play, and I had to watch him multiple times cause he was so fun to watch...Summer League games are must watches for me now...

He's a half inch shorter and ten pounds lighter than Isiah Thomas was when he came into the league, but his wingspan and standing reach are a couple of inches longer and his vert is 4 inches (!) higher.

Seems to be the case for EVERY player we come into contact with who isn't an established star. If we ever want to be an organization that, you know, develops an actual player we need to give the process a chance.

I know. The regular season is 82 freaking games long and we should want to give our guys plenty of rest for the 'real' season in the playoffs, there should be PLENTY of opportunities to develop people but we never seem to do it.

I really want to see Jordan McRae get a serious look this year.

He's small but he's a pitbull with a ridiculous vertical, impeccable vision and endless drive. This is exactly where you go in the second round. This is absurdly low risk for a potentially great reward.

Awesome selection. Kid has no expectations and gets to hone his craft alongside Kyrie and LeBron. If he can't make it here, he never would.

With our new championship-found swag, a full offseason without injuries, I fully expect to be blowing out teams a lot throughout the years. So we should have no problem at the end of games to give guys like this time to show what they can do.

And guys like Mo Williams, Jones, etc...need to ride off in the sunset. They are done. Give these new guys the playing time.

How the hell did he last until 54?

His game should definitely translate over. Doesn't need a screen to get open...can spot up..can finish in the paint.

Has all the physical tools to be proficient on both ends and has court vision.

This was a steal.

Important thing is to factor on what he does well:

-Elite athletically
-High Level scorer
-Led country in assists so can run an offense
-highest PER in college basketball
-performed at his best against power five opponents
-super competitive/chip on shoulder

If it were just 2-3 or those things, I'd be more skeptical. Put all that stuff together and he just seems like a guy who is likely to make some sort of impact in the league, hopefully with the Cavs down the road as a PG off the bench who can both run the offense in short stints and provide instant scoring.

If he can do both of those things, than in the right lineups, his height disadvantage on defense can be mitigated.
Something tells me a few guards won't be back in that locker room.

No did not mean it like haha he can't guard Curry.
Cavs aren't concerned about him guarding unspiced Curry..the league is reacting to the Cavs, not the reverse..this has to with improving the bench.
