The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So sad we may have lost this guy.. Was really looking forward to seeing what he could do this year..

I hope we give Josh Freeman a look because I can't handle Brandon Weeden the rest of the year.

I wouldn't say only. Still probably done all year.

I think you at least give him that look. You're in first. You've got a manageable back half of your schedule. Weeden lacks so much. Touch. Vision. Quickness.

Freeman isn't perfect. Neither was Hoyer. Freeman can move around and give you a chance. This team does NOT trust Weeden and nor do the coaches. Have yo try... Was against before Hoyer got injured... But now? A look.

EDIT: Plus, 10 days in between games. Could get him in ASAP.

I know next to nothing about the structure of a knee and know even less about the impact of particular injuries to them... But a partial tear sounds a little bit less impactful than a full tear or tears to multiple ligaments with regard to impact on his long-term recovery and even on his career.

I'm willing to bet we will see Brian Hoyer start another game for the Cleveland Browns before it's all said and done.

EDIT:

Nevermind.

Rob just said Hoyer is done for the year because of an torn ACl in the conference all.
There you have it.....

When you start with "I know next to nothing" and finish with "I'm willing to bet," that was probably not a good sign in the first place.

Just saying.

Fuck all of this. Guy was looking great. Why does this always happen?? WHYYY:bigcry::bigcry:

That's a shame, but I think he earned himself the backup QB job for a long time based on how he played.

:chuckles: That's why I used the word "bet."

This situation is entirely what the men involved decide to make of it. If Hoyer wants to work his ass off and win this job back next year, it can be done. If Weeden wants to prove an entire city wrong, it can be done.

Probably not going to happen, but hey what the hell.

*sigh*

Just because he's black, doesn't mean he can move.

Give me a ****ing break.

Just because I said that he can move around and give you a chance, doesn't mean I said he's a fast black guy. Big thanks for placing that stereotype in my mouth. Really appreciate it.

I have watched hours of game film on tons and tons of NFL Draft prospects over the last four years. I know my young guys pretty well. Freeman and Weeden, in terms of QB skills really aren't that much different. I would much rather Hoyer. With that said, Freeman has a leg up on Weeden because he has a little more awareness and an ability to move around in the pocket, step up and keep the play alive because he has at least a LICK of athletic ability with his feet. He is not Johnny Football or Mike Vick, but, compared to Weeden, he can at least help keep something alive with this porous offensive line. If Weeden has pressure... the play is over.

Thanks again for that, though.

Being black may not mean he can move, but it does mean he has an extra bone in his foot.
