The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This popped up on my Facebook today:

I got a bad feeling about this one. I feel a train wreck coming on today. Our running game will come back to earth, our weak receivers won't be able to separate and Hoyer will have to force some passes. We won't put up many points, we will lose and Hoyer will get the blame. We will then have to suffer through 2 painful weeks of QB controversy. This is Cleveland, that's what we do...

If the Max anti-jynx starts working for basketball AND football, we might just start enjoying professional sports again!

The buffalo win wasn't a Hoyer victory, quit including that in the stat.

He is still 3-2 with both losses coming on last second field goals. Pretty impressive considering what we have seen here the last 15 years.

Good game today in the first 3 quarters, but missed on the game clinching throw.

So basically the opposite of last week.

If Hoyer has even an average arm, he hits Benjamin and Gabriel in stride for touchdowns.

Eh, Hoyer is what he is.

He's just an average QB. Hits the open receiver, quick release but will struggle to fit the ball into tight windows and over the top.

He'll help make the Browns respectable but probably not a playoff contender. By Cleveland standards, does that make him a franchise QB?

The "well he's better than they've had" thing is so tiresome.

That's just not good enough.

That fall was purely on Gabriel. The throw was right there for him.

That play is really what set off the events that led to the loss.

Agree here, Gabriel slowed down for whatever reason.

From where I was sitting it looked like he fell because he had to slow down and wait for the ball to come to him. If that's a well thrown deep ball he catches it in stride and waltzes into the end zone instead of having to adjust and come back to it. I didn't see a replay so maybe that's wrong, but that's what it looked like to me.

Some of you have no business analyzing Hoyer's play when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Your QB didn't lose you the game today and was the only reason you were in it. Look elsewhere when assessing blame.

97.5 QB Rating through 3 games, have been in every game, and constructed an unreal comeback (and almost win) on the road at Pitt..

If our D would've been at least half as good as advertised and our kicking unit didn't have their heads up their asses, we're 3-0 right now.. or at the very least 2-1.

Like it or not, Hoyer has not been the least bit responsible for us being 1-2 instead.

Take a breath. I don't think anyone is going to argue Hoyer didn't play an excellent game, though he did need to execute late and didn't.

Looked to me like the sun was in Gabriel's eyes.
