The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hoyer is a g/f you like but don't Love.

Manziel is a crazy hot girl you know.

Do you dump the g/f to go out with the crazy girl? Not if your smart. But, you don't marry the g/f either and you keep looking for a better girl to marry.

We have a good girl for now, but we need someone that is marriage material. Nothing on this team is worth proposing to.

No Hoyer and Johnny are bother men. Maybe there's something you're not telling us? Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I think not enough noise is being made about how pathetic the right side of the O-Line has been. I dont think any QB can perform with that line. Im expecting BH to have a huge comeback game against the Raiders. The Buc's - I'm worried.

If the receiver dropped Hoyer passes, they would likely drop Manziel's passes as well. I saw four bad balls from Hoyer, one being the pass to Cameron in the end zone. He was off at times. I also saw the worst game the offensive line played all year and embarrassing wide receiver play. Miles Austin won't get credited for a drop when he failed to find the ball on that slant, but if he turns his head its a touchdown. Ugly offense today, but the only people who suggested Manziel at the Browns Backers bar were the women folk. There's a reason for that.

If that were johnny out there all of the Houer apologists would be calling for his head. I'm not suggesting we even play John Paul football this year, but rather groom him for the position and let him learn from Hoyer.

We shouldn't be jumping to offer Hoyer an extension either and I think this game showed us we need to see a larger sample size of Hoyer before saying how many games he's won. If you don't count the buffalo game it looks less and less impressive.

If the Jags can fluster Hoyer and destroy the Browns, I really fear for what the Bucs and Raiders will do. They are arguably better than the Jags...and I wouldn't count on those teams throwing 3 picks to the Browns, either.

Two word: Game manager.

Also, do you guys know what a drop is? I see it brought every week as an excuse. Before today's game, the Browns had THE LEAST drops in the league with only 3.

I'm not giving up on Hoyer yet, but Manziel may be a better option with his elusiveness that is apparently needed with the loss of Mack.

Thanks.

That's if you assume they come out and play the same way they did today.

Which was a drastic outlier through six games this season.

If you watch the game, the technical term might not be a drop, but when the ball goes off a receivers hands or straight through their hands the issue isn't Hoyer's.

And that probably happened 5-7 times today.

If the ball is off target and hits the receivers hands of goes straight through the issue is in fact Hoyer's. Quit making excuses for the guy he literally shit the bed this game.

Cameron had a jump ball that touched his hands, are we really going to blame Cameron for not making a catch that he had to jump for and take a hit? Are we really going to blame Hawkins because it hit his fingertips because he's not a foot taller?

One topic that's not being discussed here is the defensive line of the jags batting the ball down at the line of scrimmage. I thought JJ watt was on their team at one point.

When did this happen? I missed it.

Maybe 2-3 drops.

I'd put more blame on Hoyer for the dropped passes today. His ball placement was bad all day. He's been missing high all season. Earlier people were saying it was because he was splitting time with Johnny and the receivers didn't have any chemistry. There is no excuse for him to still be throwing high to Hawk and Benji and throwing behind Austin. Also why does the offense try and target Cameron more? he's not being double covered out there.

Dude... B00bie... get your eyes off your neighbor's tits. Eyes don't lie. If the ball bounces off a receiver's hands and isn't registered as an official drop, I don't really care for the stat.

I bet you don't.

My eyes tell me when the ball is behind receivers traveling across the middle, it's disingenuous to call it a drop if all he can do is reach back and stab at it. We've seen this for years with Browns QBs, attention has to be paid to quarterback performance when taking drops into account.

Foolish to suggest otherwise.

Hoyer was off the mark all day today, it was a piss poor performance and 2-3 additional "drops" make little difference in the day he had.
