The mystery deal discussed lol (take your wild guesses)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Exactly we might not even get a player in 2010 to go alongside LBJ, and if we did we wouldn't be able to resign AV any way. Besides if LBJ leaves we are not going to get another star player maybe not even an all star unless we way over pay. We need to build for a championship now and not just hope that a player comes along. If we are the defending champs I think it is very hard for LBJ to walk away from that even if he could get 10 times the money I think it is very difficult.

No imagine we are the 2 time defending champs. That offseason, cap space will be at a premium. We could sign a good player to a mle (like maggette almost had to)...and then we would be the team getting all the old farts at vet min. (pj brown for example) As Mdog said, we dont need cap space, I keep saying this, but its fools gold. We wouldnt have the depth needed to compete for a championship. We need to turn our contracts into better longer term players. As long as gilbert doesnt mind paying the tax, lets stay over the cap and improve the talent. Ferry has been a quick read at this gm thing. To bad he wasnt this succesful as a player, lol

It aint Wallace and Okafor, it Wallace and David Lee. Id be willing to bet thats what the insider dude was talking about.

Gerald Wallace and David Lee for Varejao, Wally and a 1st round pick? I gotta say Id need some time to think about that one, just because wed be losing Varejao.

No questions David Lee is a better player than Varejao, could even be an allstar in the right situation, and hes even younger. And he brings alotta hussle and energy like Varejao.

And Gerald Wallace brings amazing defense, hussle (which would compensate for losing Andy) and offensively hes a fantastic scoring option. Hes obviously a guy that could easily be an all-star on a winning team.

Even after thinkin about all that, Varejao fits this team perfectly. Hes totally adapted to Mike Brown and his defensive system, and Imjust wondering how long it would take to get thsee new guys adapted to it. I really dont wanna lose him.

But, Id still do this deal in a heartbeat. Might take a little while for the new guys to get adapted to the team, but it wouldnt be 3 starters like last years deadline deal, it would be an all-sar caliber swingman and an awesome bench player.

I think we'd definitely need to sign someone like McDyess, but after that, I see us being on that elite level that tha Lakers are on. Noone in the East could even touch us.

Mo/D-West
Gerald Wallace/Boobie/Sasha
LeBron/Kinsey
Ben/Lee/JJ
Z/McDyess

I know Im jumpin tha gun and sayin its definitely Wallace and Lee that weve got an offer on, but it seems pretty obvious.

Theres no way charlottle trade okofor and g-force for andy and wally. Even if we give them a first rounder they theres no point it will be in 30's.

Hoopshype says Toronto is intersted in G-Forcre and they have more to offer IMO.

Also on hoopshpye is says: Wilcox and Collison availble?

So maybe we'll be trading with seattle again

Well Toronto had interest in Gforce in the offseason but i disagree about them having more to offer. But he would definitely fit well on that team and give them a boost defensively. It says Toronto also talked to the Warriors, i'm figuring about SJAX....

We don't even know for sure if the cavs have interest in Gforce but everyone was just speculating.

As for Wilcox and Collison, i think they both would be good here. Collison would probably be the better replacement for AV if we traded him. He is the same size, can rebound and defend well. I think Collison would fit the bill as a solid big since W&G mentioned we would get a solid big and wing player.

If its a three team trade, I doubt we would get players like Okafor AND Gerald Wallace from one team. I could see us getting ONE of those players and then another player from the second trading partner.

For example, I could see us getting Gerald Wallace for AV, then we get either Nick Collison or Wilcox from OKC.

I believe W&G said two solid players. Maybe we are overreacting, I doubt we get back two all-star caliber players.

Everyone keeps saying how we have a chance of beating the celtics, but do we have a chance to win the whole thing?

I mean who the hell cares about getting to finals only to lose. The way the lakers are looking right now, it doesn't seem like there is team in this league that can beat them in a 7 game series. There weakness was defense and they have clearly shown improvement in that department thus far.

I think Ferry will have to pull off a trade if he really wants us to contend for the title. I can't see us winning a championship with what we have. I pray to God that I am wrong, but I think we should all face reality.

Man I been talkin bout this one all day. Im willing to bet this trade offer is somethin like:

Knicks get Wally and Varejao, Bobcats get Curry and our 1st round pick and we get Gerald Wallace and David Lee.

Id do that in a heartbeat cuz.

If Ferry's history has taught us anything it's that he seems to favor multi team deals.

The Lakers schedule has been an embarasment this year. They have played a winless team twice, Denver who IMO might not even make the playoffs, and another non playoff team in Portland. Houston was their best test and even they aren't looking as good as thought. We shall see when they play a winning team how well they do. I'm not trying to take any thing away from the LAL but they have played one good team in Houston.

That makes a lot of sense. The Cats are already interested in Curry, god knows why, but they've been hesitant to make the move without David Lee being involved. We substitute Lee with a #1 and maybe cash and they'll probably budge.

The Knicks get a ton of money off the books and the perfect type of center in Andy to put next to Z-Bo and in the run and gun offense. Wally+Starbury=35+ mill coming off the books for them this season.

We get the lock down perimiter defender we lack who also happens to be an actual scoring threat and a semi-stud young double-double big man...:headbang::drool:

I LOVE Andy but I just can't pass that deal up. It makes sense for all involved really...

If we could then sign McDyess...OMG

The deal with the knicks completely screws us Ferry isn't that stupid. We won't be able to re sign Lee for the money he wants. NO!!

If Toronto could get Wallace for Bargnani + filler, they'd have a pretty sick starting lineup of Calderon, Parker, Wallace, Bosh, O'Neal. Although their bench would still be pretty terrible with Kapono, Moon, Humphries, Ukic leading the way.

It would be a good trade but why would Larry Brown want a player like Bargnani. He would find himself on the end of the bench just like Darko was in Detroit.

They need another big, and Bargnani has shown improvement thus far this season. I agree he's definitely not the typical Larry Brown player, but you never know. Plus, if it's a 3way trade between Toronto, NY, and Charlotte, then someone like Curry may be sent to Charlotte instead of Bargnani. Perhaps Bargnani would go to NY.

I'm not saying the trade will happen, just saying if it did (since there's trade rumors between these teams).

Anyways, back to the original topic (my fault for getting off track :chuckles:)

There's also the possibility if we get G-Force, and Toronto still likes him in 2010 and Bosh makes it clear he's not coming back, a sign-and-trade could even still be in order in a Bosh for G-Force & a 1st type of thing.

Options-a-plenty.
