The Walking Dead

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

I have a basic question: How fast can the zombies move? I feel like at some parts they tend to chase people at a fast walking pace and then at the end of the most recent show it looked like a few of them were close to a full out sprint. Anyone read the comic and have knowledge on their 40 times?

The faster zombies are all NFL flops drafted by the Raiders.

I'm still waiting for the all-out brawl between Shane and Rick. I'm guessing that might be the season finalè this year to get us back next year.

Loser of the fight butt-fucks a walker.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

Yeah JSS...you can't be describing the show we're all watching.

At least in the regard that the zombies and the rest of the FX for that matter are incredible. And the show completely relies on atmosphere, which is what has made the show an incredible success. And commercial interruptions...I barely notice them. And it seems like there's actually significantly less than most other shows.

I could see someone disliking the plot lines and the acting definitely leaves something to be desired at times. Opinions are opinions, but you have the exact opposite view of even the people I know that dislike it.

The FX are hit or miss. You'll have a scene where there's one zombie creating chaos and his/her make-up FX are pretty top notch but then that's ruined by the rest of the episode essentially showing extras in Halloween make-up.

I think what bothers me the most is the cast. I don't think they hired the right actors as most of them are downright cheesy in their execution. B movie cheesy. It would be fine if this show were B movie but it tries to take itself seriously.

The old woman who just lost her daughter bothers the shit outta me. The blonde woman has nice tits but sucks as an actress. You're right, I could probably complain about something about all the actors, but I still like the show.

If they don't find that stupid little girl in the next show I'm going to stop watching. It's starting to remind me of the Jersey Shore Ronny/Sammy fights where it drags on and on causing me to stop watching it.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

Yeah I had to turn it off mid show. It's just a soap opera now.

Why were you watching Jersey Shore in the first place? Have you no shame?

Starting out the things they did and said were funny...but then as it go more and more popular it has become obviously staged.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

Anyone still watch this? I can't watch it live anymore with all these commercials and soap opera moments.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

This past episode was terrible. The live bait part was a ridiculous shark jump all around. Everything involving that scenario was completely senseless.

Show is starting to lose me. This season is going to need to finish out real strong.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

I love this show, and it is the only show that I try to catch weekly. I loved the last episode too, especially the ending with her out in the field. Now the countdown begins until she will be in deep shit. Love it.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

How can a zombie show have next to no zombies in it? This show was once the most promising show on tv and has turned into Grey's Zombie Anatomy.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

Alright cunts, the show has to show some kind of "family" type show. If it was just all zombie killing, some of their audience would lose interest, this is keeping the other type of audience in the show. Same as American Horror Story. They could go all out fucked up, but they are making it into a show for all audiences.

Still has a good plot and still addicting. If you weren't pissed at the other cop killing that fat dude, then come on. No way you saw that coming.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

Fwiw the comic series this is based on (read a few of them but havent caught up with the show yet) is more of an apocalyptic story than about zombies. It focused more on the story, challenges and drama of the survivors and than on the zombies themselves, kind of like The Road.

Re: The Walking Dead Episode One (Pre-air)

SPOILER ALERT

I'm surprised people weren't annoyed by the well "live bait" scene. It was just manufactured, unnecessary drama. It ruined the entire episode for me. There was absolutely no reason to not just shoot the goddamn thing, knowing that the well water was already contaminated if it could be contaminated just by blood at all.

I don't know what it is...I'm just not riveted to this season like I was last season. The drama is starting to feel really manufactured at times. Could just be me. I really WANT to still love the show, but I feel like I'm watching a bunch of 7.5 quality episodes, where last season almost all were 9's.
