I agree that you need periphery stories. I guess it's just the ones happening right now are lame. No faster way to lose my attention than to have Andrea spat with the old man again. I'll wait and see with the little kid being shot and what goes on at the Texas Chainsaw farmhouse before I draw any final conclusions, but it needs to pick up. I hate when shows (Lost is a great example) that sidetrack from the story to pump out more episodes and waste time.
I actually like the periphery stories. I mean...if you don't want them to drag it out, then the show can only last so long. I've been pretty satisfied so far. I do wonder how long the concept can go on. I'm actually pretty excited about all the possible going's-on at Herschel's. Something strange about the fact there's literally no protection around the house besides isolation and the fact that the area has remained isolated so long. Creepy.
