Getting Jimmer in a small trade may make sense if Waiters is out for weeks instead of days. Fredette plus Aaron Gray works for J. Jack and makes sense for both teams if the Cavs can't use Jack in a bigger trade.

Only way I would want Jimmer is if he comes with Thornton in a trade around Jack. If anything, I would do the Jack-Thornton deal and then do a small trade (picks) for Austin Rivers + Pierre Jackson.

Why would you want Rivers? I watch them quite a bit because of Roberts and he just isn't that good.

You've just put 4 guards on a team with Kyrie Irving already on it. And those guys are all guards. There is no in-between there.

I don't think the Dion injury changes anything imo.

Dion was staying a Cavalier.

Jack is still on the table and should be moved if the right deal comes along.

I think it does a little bit if Dion is out a long time. The most consistent argument for trading Jack is that he is redundant. But if Dion is out awhile, Jack is suddenly not redundant and his scoring is needed.

This doesn't take him off the table. But it requires we move him for a scoring guard. Or if he isn't moved for scoring, we need to acquire one in a different move.

Essentially, if Dion is out a long time, it limits our flexibility a bit, especially if the goal is to keep winning.

The best argument for trading Jack is that he's overpaid for his level of play. That doesn't change with Dion out. It should not change how we approach moving him. I hope it doesn't.

If the goal is to keep winning now, I think you could make 2 smaller deals.

One to get rid of Jack's contract since he isn't playing near his $$$ amount and a second smaller move to back fill Jack if the Cavs cannot get a player with the Jack trade.

I just find it hilarious, you can tell why that guy isn't in the NBA anymore. He is so pathetic with his knowledge of how to run a team.

1. Kyrie/Dion/Deng/TT/AV
2. Delly/Thornton/CJ/AB/Zeller
3. Jimmer/Pierre/Kerasev/Clark/Sims

Just dump Austin Rivers to the D-League or cut him. This stuff happens all the time. If you want to get Pierre, you get Rivers as well. Jason Kapono and Josh Selby for example. Just apart of the trade. Also, I'd much rather see Kevin Jones on here than Clark and Sims. Kid is gonna be good.

Hope he's right. From Waiters:

Thanks for the prayers & concerns nothing is torn thank the man above for that. Just sore as hell but I'll be fine.

I wouldn't consider Orlando at all. What would they have to give to Minny? Also, if they actually come up with a good package that means giving up almost your whole future in terms of players, assets, etc. Olidpo, Tobias, Vucevic, Maybe Afflalo?, and a 2014 1st, maybe another pick. No way Minny takes that.
