Ok i'm really bored and i'm putting off an essay that is due tomorrow morning. Anyway I was just wondering what trades people thought would or could be available at the trade deadline, by coupling our expirings, and our crap (Sasha).

I'll go first feel free to give me constructive criticism, I take it well.

First I think Gerald Wallace would be great for our system, adding a scoring punch, and a lockdown defender at the two or three depending on the team we are playing.

Pavs, Snow and a second would get this deal done (depending if Charlotte is fighting for playoffs or not).

Second Carmelo Anthony. Yes unrealistic, but attainable if Denver continues this downward spiral into rebuilding. Also if Melo starts to complain because the team sucks.

Wally and a couple of unprotected firsts and maybe a 2nd.

Steven Jackson. A good player on both sides of the ball, and a 2010 expiring.

Eric Snow straight up.

Darko Milicic. Just for defensive purposes and depth.

Can't think of a trade.

Shawn Marion. PF and good offensive pressence. Not sure about defence because he played in PHX.

Wally, Sasha.

Well that is all I really have time to post, and can even think of right now. Feel free to comment and add, although this list will ultimately become useless in Feb.

Jason Richardson seems to be a nice possibility.. Hes older than Gerald not by much though, Larry Browns been really impressed with Wallace so maybe MJ won't look to dump him.. and nothings been said about J Rich.

I would prefer Gerald, but Jasons a real nice upgrade over our trash we call 2 guards.

wow mdog in which dreamworld do you live? no way that denver will trade their superstar for wally and some picks even if they have only 5 wins and 30 losses in february! that gerald wallace trade is also extremly unrealistic they want more than pavs, snow and a pick. by the way snow retired a few days ago so he's not longer trade bait

Well, good for you...

I thought about a two shooting guard who could - and should - be easy to get: Raja Bell and Martell Webster.

Raja Bell should be exactly what we're looking for in a 2. Yes, he is old. But he's also an excellent defender, a decent shooter from three-point land and his contract is only for two more years.

Portland is loaded with talent. It is extremely hard to retain that much talent. I think getting Martell Webster, who is a long SG/SF and also a good three-point shooter (don't know much about his defense), should be attainable.

His contract is expiring after this season, same goes with the contracts of Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, LeMarcus Aldrige and Channing Frye. Trading Webster, will mean more time to sign those other guys, whom appear to be a group of, yeah well, promising players.

My main point is, that if we go after a decent two guard who can shoot the ball and play D, we can keep the main focus on getting an all-star caliber big man. It's a lot harder to find good PF/C, than it is to find guards.

good post. both players would fit in well also i don't know much about webster. raja bell would be nice but what would phoenix want from us?

I was thinking of Delonte West. He could work well as a backup to Steve Nash, and playing shooting guard for stretches. I think he would really excel in their uptempo system as he is very athletic.

If we got Raja Bell in return, I don't think the loss of Delonte would make that an impact on us.

I just learned that Delonte can't be traded before December 15th.

Raja is to old. Ive got my eye on Joe Johnson if the hawks suck in febuary, but I think we will go after a big man. GUys that could be availble Odom, Marion, Amare, Randolph, and Boozer o and AK47.

I now a lot of you guys dont like AK47 but I do. Yes, I know he complains and has a big ass contract but when Boozer or Williams or both are out this guy shows up big.

I'm hoping the Cavs take a look at Darko, young defensive 7 footers dont grow on trees, he'd make a good backup with the possibility of being the starter in a few years. His contract also expires in 2010, which is perfect, if he doesnt produce let him walk if he does re-sign him.

Overrated defensively.

So are a lot of players. But that doesn't stop them from being called good defenders.

I thought about Amare being available but the more i considered it the chances he becomes available are slim and even if he is we would have to deal boobie, wally, delonte, hickson, sasha and a couple first rounders. So you lose your whole bench. Joe Johnson is an intriguing one because im not really sure what Atlanta would do if they suck this year. He is 29 years old but could probably still be greatly effective for the next 5 years. If we could get Joe Johnson or Amare without giving up boobie delonte or hickson i would cry myself to sleep and dream about KG getting dunked on by Amare or Joe Johnson averaging 20 5 5

Camby shouldn't even be on that "top 20" list. He played on a horrible defensive squad, and he was left with the sole task of swatting away every person that got into the paint. His numbers took a huge hit from playing in Denver. He's still one of the best defenders in the game, age is finally catching up to him, that's all.

To be fair though, I know many better posters.
