Trade deadline Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought about Amare being available but the more i considered it the chances he becomes available are slim and even if he is we would have to deal boobie, wally, delonte, hickson, sasha and a couple first rounders. So you lose your whole bench. Joe Johnson is an intriguing one because im not really sure what Atlanta would do if they suck this year. He is 29 years old but could probably still be greatly effective for the next 5 years. If we could get Joe Johnson or Amare without giving up boobie delonte or hickson i would cry myself to sleep and dream about KG getting dunked on by Amare or Joe Johnson averaging 20 5 5

If we could get amare for anything not named Lebron (much less no mo either) you do that trade without even thinking twice, even if it includes 2 first rounders and moondog. No way they trade amare without getting a superstar in return like wade or carmello. Lebron, Amare, Mo, and a bunch of nbdl'ers to fill out the rotation would win an nba championship.

Truth be told, I would not give up a ton to get Amare. He is to injury prone, but that being said if we only had to give up Pavs, boobie, and Delonte i'd do that in a heartbeat.

How is amare injury prone? He had the one major injury, has played 2 seasons since, 79games and 82 games. In fact, he has played in 79 or more games in 4 of his 6 seasons, one of those seasons he missed almost completely because of the knee. He has a major knee surgery, but not prone to injury at all. Its like calling Z injury prone, except Z needed 3 seasons to heal. I think Amare is the most dominate all around pf in the league when healthy.

Ok I can asgree with you that he may not be injury prone, but once an injury is there it is always there. You can't just go in there and fix it and have it 100%. Look at agent 0 his knee is super f'd.

Amare would be perfect, he's by far the best offensive big man in the NBA, put him in the pick and roll with LeBron and forget it. I dont think they have a chance of getting him, but if it took Gibson, Hickson and West to be included you do it no questions asked, he'd give you 27 and 9 while shooting 55%.

Amare didn't work out for us when he entered the draft.. why would he want to come here now?

He doesnt have a trade clause does he? I dont know, I think he wouldnt be opposed to going to the Cavs now that they actually have a legitimate shot of winning a title, more so than the Suns. I dont blame him for not working out for the Cavs, the team was just a mess then.

Because we have a guy named Lebron.

True enough, the only player that would not want to come and play with us is KB24. He would be too jealous playing second fiddle to the rightful MVP.

Well I would be, but if amare doesn't want to come here than F him we don't need him here if he doesn't want to be here.

Ok, dream target is obviously Joe Johnson if the Hawks do poorly and he wants out.

Other SG's include:
Vince Carter (Contract kills 2010 cap plus he's getting older)
Jamal Crawford (No thanks)
J-Rich (Would love him)
Gerald Wallace (Would love him as well)
John Salmons (What Hughes was supposed to be, slasher with good defense)
Raja Bell (Old, but good defense and can shoot, would be one of our last resorts)
SJax (Is he a chucker who plays for Golden State? Or is he a chucker because he plays for Golden State?)
Damien Wilkins (Young, but doesn't look like OKC has a spot for him.)
Martell Webster (Again, young, can start in this league, but no room for him with Portland)
Mike Miller (If the Wolves want to offer Bynum a max deal this offseason, they could unload Miller, Cardinal, and Madsen)
AI (Doubtful, unless he really wants out and we can't do better. At least he's an expiring.)

PF Targets include:

Sean Williams (Young, potential, off-court troubles)
Zach Randolph (You know your feelings on him)
Emeka Okafor (If Larry Brown doesn't like him)
Al Harrington (I'd rather not)
Andrei Kirilenko (Would be nice, kills 2010 capspace)
Carlos Boozer (Possibly?)
Chris Wilcox (Not sure what we could offer OKC for him)
Kenyon Martin (Disgusting contract, but if healthy would be our starting PF)
Darko Milicic (Young, inexpensive, why not?)

Good lists but **** no to Boozer. Don't want him here unless he has an extended contract. Don't need him to walk out on us again. Besides why would UJ trade an expiring for an expiring? Oh well Darko is my Favourite on those lists other than JJ.

Hey, MDog, I'm not saying to get those guys, I'm just telling you that's who's out there. Now, the PF's I listed were the ones who could start. If you wanted to look at backup PF's, we could also include Nick Collison, Joe Smith, Craig Smith, Ryan Gomes, etc.

From the lists I posted above, I think it's fairly obvious that it's going to be almost impossible to land the star PF we all want. The two most talented that we could have a shot at are K-Mart and AK47, and they both would destroy our 2010 cap plans.

At SG however, there are a lot more options.
