He's at AAA now
Sands was called up
The biggest difference between Shaw and Zep is that Shaw is still good at his job. We might trade him, but I doubt it'd be in a straight cash dump.Pretty much a straight money move. Almonte in the grand scheme of things is meaningless.
Indians decided they would rather pay Crockett, Roth or Soto the league minimum to be the LOOGY the rest of 2015 and 2016 than pay Rzepczynski 3.5M which is around what he'll get in arbitration this winter.
Don't be surprised if they do the same thing with Shaw this offseason.

I agree that Shaw would/should draw more of a return prospect wise than Scrabble, but the thought process is still the same.
No reason for a small market team to pay 3M+ for production they can get for 500k.
Shaw has actually been effective and has a bigger role. They also have not had anyone step up to take his role. Smith was let go because they felt they had options. I think unless Shaw gets crazy expensive he sticks around.Pretty much a straight money move. Almonte in the grand scheme of things is meaningless.

I hadn't bothered to look up the numbers, but it seemed like every time Zep came in to get a lefty out and face one batter, he failed. Looks like I wasn't just imagining things.
