Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everything is great beside freaking center...

That will be upgraded shortly... be patient...lol... Marion is an absolute great signing... was the perfect get to guard 3-4's and even an occasional SG.. think Kobe,JJ,or even Derozan

Irving/Delly
Waiters/Miller/Harris
James/Marion/Jones
Love/Thompson
Varejao/Haywood/Kirk

Those are 13 guys we seem pretty committed to. Kirk would be the biggest wildcard.

We have the 3 Jazz players and Powell. Powell remains unsigned to any sort of deal which is why I list Kirk above him.

I'd expect either Allen or Billups to be added.

And then we have flexibility to add another player. Maybe we just keep someone like Erik Murphy or Powell.

Maybe we make a trade using the Jazz players.

But we seem to be pretty complete right now.

IMO, this is a more important signing than any of Miller, Allen if he comes, or Jones (obviously). Better all around player than any of them and he is coming off of a good season (10.5 & 6.5) and one of his best shooting years of his career from 3 (36% best since 2003). I cannot believe we got him for the vet min. He is still worth 4-5 mil a season in my eyes. We just got our backup SF and PF and effectively moved Tristan to a full-time backup C, which also helps a little bit at that position.

GREAT signing. He is 36 years old, but he still has a lot in the tank. He played 32 mpg for a very good Dallas Mavs team last season.

I think we'll still see Tristan at Forward a fair amount.

Poor Miami gets denied again. Fricking love it will always hate that team.

Marion isn't just a backup SF, he will also play some PF i'd imagine. He's done it throughout his entire career. I am hoping this move means we see Marion play the backup PF minutes and Tristan the backup C minutes. Tristan should be able to handle playing against backup C's.

Bench bunch:

Delly
Allen
Miller
Marion
Thompson

Personally, I would start Miller and go with Delly, Dion, Allen, Marion, Thompson off the bench. That's one of the best benches in the NBA if Dion is on it.

think Allen comes...Kirk and Harris will be D-leaguers .. and I still say all the Utah players are dealt before the season .. we are definitely 1-12getting a great balance

Cavs signed Miller and Marion for less than Earl Clark. And Miller, Marion, and Jones for less than Jarrett Jack.

I hope that these vets are a lot more productive. Huge bonus for the Cavs that they signed at these prices.

The guy is pretty much the equivalent of Boris Diaw

Damn this is getting good, team is prepared in facing either OKC & Spurs

I hope not. No reason to. Love will play 35 minutes there. Other 13 minutes should go to Marion and LeBron (small ball).

Split the 48 minutes up at C between Andy and TT however you like.

I love that a guy like Marion just understands basketball. He's going to move without the ball, set solid screens, play post defense even against guys 30 pounds heavier... You can count on him, even if he doesn't have the explosive game changing abilities of his youth.

In 1106 career games Marion has started 94% of the time

That makes me even more surprised that he signed here

Marion was my favorite player when I was younger. Was so exciting in his prime years on the Suns. Even though he's older now, still excited to see him play for the Cavs
