And once again your approach is half assed for Xbox only listing apps that are basically on both systems.

You can't say it cost less when it never goes on sale like you said. Automatic updates? Xbox is the same. The only thing PS+ has over Xbox from what you've shown is a 1hour full game access which is cool for you I guess(blah for me, I don't even try demos). Oh, and here's the apps you left out BTW.

I've been Playstation since day one, and Playstation only so yea, I think I will get a Ps4. I still play the first Playstation and Playstation 2 every once in awhile.

Before I bought it on Steam, I used to bust out my PS2 every couple months just to play Battlefront 2.

Damn, looks like Sony is tripling up around here.

What the hell I need all those apps for, and of course TV. I watch TV on my TV in Direct TV crystal clear, I have a smartphone to download all those apps. Ps4 has the better hardware and are leaps and bounds ahead in popularity on multiple discussions. Microsoft is thinking the multi-media is going to be a winner. I hope not.

I was at a GameStop today and was asking the guy questions regarding the PS4's release date. And he said something that the rest of us don't know yet: he said that it is for certain that it will be releasing in November, they just don't know what day yet.

I like my 360 better than my PS3 for a few reasons I won't go into.

I cannot for the life of me understand this transition to TV entertainment that Microsoft feels is necessary to expand their market value. I want the latest and greatest hardware that is dedicated to gaming. Gaming is a much different animal than watching something on a screen and I feel Microsoft is heading in a direction that doesn't push boundaries but is only expanding on things that already exist. I'm just not happy with this approach.

It has nothing to do with Kinect, DRM, or the every 24 hour "updates". I just want to be transferred to a different world that I can control in the most realistically way possible and I feel Microsoft has fucked up in that aspect. I just heard that one of the Sony executives has praised the Oculus Rift to no end and even indicates with a big smile about future support. This is the kind of thing I'm into. Take us into the future, not the TV Guide.

I'm not sure what's "right" or "wrong" for a market, but my guess is the Wii opened up Microsoft's eyes.

The Wii console managed to get a large amount of penetration into the casual market. My grandma even had one. She only used it for bowling, but her friends made a bowling league, they all played together every Monday night. It was odd, but kinda cool.

There is money to be made in the gaming console world to be sure, but if they were able to capitalize on some of the market the cable companies have? If they can find that magical formula where the device is easily justifiable at $500, even if you don't ever play a game on it? Then they might be able to expand market share considerably. That's a lot of "ifs", and it's a huge gamble. The one thing Microsoft can't afford to do is lose their current customers because they're focusing too much on a theoretical market which may or may not actually exist.

I feel like one of the few who has "faith" in the concept. Microsoft has done some revolutionary things with the 360. Even something I thought was stupid at first (achievements) have infiltrated every aspect of the game world. I like the exclusive games list the Xbox has lined up, and I don't take umbrage with the 24 hour check in or the occasional game which can't be resold. Basically, I'll take the Xbox One out for a spin regardless of everything else, and give it a chance to let me down. The 360 has been fantastic. I've heard great things about Sony products in the past, and the PS2 was outstanding, but my enthusiasm for the brand has waned significantly in the past 10 years. I got burned on the PSP, and I don't feel I really got my money's worth out of the PS3. Both times I bought in big at their E3 conference, so I'm going to stay skeptical for now. Let's see what people are saying in a year.

I love the idea behind the Oculus Rift though. If Sony moves in that direction, I may need to pick up a PS4 after all.

And now the Wii U is selling like a turd. By catering to casuals, they created one-hit wonder and a product line that is completely unappealing to most gamers; therein lies the rub... gamers are the ones who buy new systems.

It's cool that they got your grandma to buy and play their system but when the Wii U came out.. how many grandmas pre-ordered months in advance and lined up outside the store at midnight to get one? How many grandmas got the upgraded system at all? Same with most families and all casuals for that matter. If a casual's gaming needs are satisfied by their current system and the games they own, there isn't any incentive to upgrade for a few more features and better graphics. Whenever a new system came out and I wanted to upgrade, my mom would always say "what's wrong with the system you already have?" A lot of those people own the Wii now. How many of them will upgrade for $300? Gamers on the other hand are insatiable and constantly need to have the latest and greatest. That means buying new systems, games, and pouring a ton of money into the company of their choice.

That's why the Xbone is such a stupid idea. In a market with choices, gamers are going to go to the system that's best for gaming. Sure, Xbone might be able to get some families and randoms hooked in with their media focus but for every one they do, they'll lose a gamer to PS4 who has made it clear that while media is important to them, gaming is #1. The reason Playstation has always crushed the market is because of their focus on providing the best gaming experience. They screwed up releasing the PS3 last time by releasing an expensive system and releasing it late which lost market share to Xbox so what did they do? They aggressively priced their new system and kicked Xbox in the face by making their system gamer friendly without all the BS restrictions. Microsoft instead took what was a winning formula last generation, forgot what made them a hit and got WAY too greedy.

Microsoft may have already lost this console war but if they haven't, the only chance they have is reversing their strategy. It's amazing such simple logic has escaped so many but when you're looking to sell video game systems and video games, your best bet is to market to and focus on gamers. PS4 has.

I'm sorry but the Microsoft lost this console war talk in June doesn't carry any weight to me.

Depends on what they do. Right now word of mouth is absolutely toxic and their concept is a laughingstock all over social media. If they don't change, that isn't suddenly going to get better overnight. If anything, people intending to get the Xbone at the moment may have a change of heart once they realize how many of their friends are going with PS4. They need to figure out a way to change public perception or yeah, they lost it in June.

They've already had one of their VP's come out and state:

The Xbox One is an online device

If you want an offline device there is an Xbox 360 you can buy and that is an offline device
