Hulu Plus vs Netflix vs Amazon Prime

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
House of Cards... Best show I've seen on TV in over a decade.

that would be a netflix show. Kevin spacey said they pitched it and netflix said yeah and gave them 36 episodes outt he gate. Spacey was floored.

House of cards is a remake of sorts to the BBC show. sort of like the syfy being human. . definately good programming.

C'mon, you have better taste than this. The president in s2 was a cartoon character. Also Grantland critic Andy Greenwald was pretty on point when he referred to it as basically a "Frank dunks on everyone montage." We wouldn't buy Pro Wrestling if it gave characters the type of push that Frank got. It was entertaining, but once I finished it was basically an afterthought.

Arliss is that not available. Never noticed, because I never remembered that that show existed.

Most people don't, it was just one of my favorite shows growing up. One of the few that I cannot find in its entirety, as it's never been released on DVD.

Honestly, I find most TV shows to be boring.

The president in s2 was a cartoon character.

You mean like the last two clowns that have been in office?

Dick Cheney and George H.W. Bush were extremely influential Vice Presidents.

Also Grantland

Fuck Grantland.

critic Andy Greenwald was pretty on point when he refered to it as basically a "Frank dunks on everyone montage."

Guy must have never watched the show. The majority of episodes have Frank actually scratching just to stay afloat. He loses often.

We wouldn't buy Pro Wrestling if it gave characters the type of push that Frank got. It was entertaining, but once I finished it was basically an afterthought.

What's so poignant about House of Cards is that it shows a realistic view of Washington. Our politicians are corrupt.. Through and through.

When I look at Frank Underwood, I instantly think Lyndon B. Johnson. When I look at Claire, I see Hillary Clinton all day long.

yes s2 was really bad. s1 was quite good - def better - but it's definitely not close to the best show of the past decade.

Out of curiosity what is?

Better shows that aired at some point over the past decade:

The Wire
The Shield
Breaking Bad
Battlestar Galactica
Friday Night Lights
Game of Thrones

Personally, I'd also throw in Justified because I love the show and the characters are just incredibly fun to watch every week. If we're counting comedies as well as dramas, Arrested Development would be on the list above. Deadwood has a pretty solid argument as well. Some people would probably argue Mad Men, but I couldn't really get into it so I left it off my list.

I actually liked how Greenwald compared House of Cards to Doritos. Easy to devour an entire bag, but not much in the way of nutritional content. A very entertaining show, but ultimately it's more of a guilty pleasure than a show that you'll rewatch every year like I do with most of the shows on that list above.

House of Cards is also a pretty literal adaption of the British show. From the summaries I've read of the British one, it hits all of the major beats.

In fact I'd wager a ton on Serious Spoiler Alert
Do not read
Claire and the secret service agent assassinate Frank to save him from a reckoning

And Veep totally blows House of Cards out of the water for VP type shows. Season 2 was spectacular and s3 is also supposed to be great.

I do see you points and such but(limit the length of the response) please tell me how that clueless fuck Walker got elected president. 0 charisma. Horrible strategist.

My friend, I know this might miss a few people but think about what you just said... How did this clueless fuck Walker get elected President of the United States....

Hmm......

His character is loosely based on George Walker Bush.

I'll be 100% honest with you.. I don't agree..

I don't like most of the shows you listed, especially Battlestar Galactica (and I'm a huge sci-fi fan, bigger than you are - of that I am certain).. We obviously have different tastes.

That's fair. Mine are good and yours are bad. :chuckles:

I guess. Bush had Rove who is a genius(evil) and the machine. This Walker has Major Dad and gets Mosgov'd at least 5 different times by Frank.

Underwood is pretty much Ted Cruz cause I feel like neither believes in anything but himself (themsef?)
