MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL vs Ravens

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thank you. I have no idea what that dude said and I don’t care.

Once Lamar came in, which by the way was an awesome TV moment, you knew they were done. As a football fan, last night we saw something special by a special player. No shame in losing to an all timer. It really did feel as inevitable and helpless as when Jordan had the ball at the end of the game.
An all-timer??? Give it up man. Dude had to take a shit and just barely made it back.

I'm STUNNED by Cleveland media taking the moral victory route.

Its like the whole media is happier Baker played well and they lost than they would have been than had Baker had a bad game and they won.

Moral victory time is over. Winning is all that matters.

If Baker has to throw less to win then do that.

So weird reading the media today.

So basically exactly what I said would happen.

moral victory time, all week.

I'm surprised the media is going that route too but it's the same way I'm feeling.

It's not a moral victory. It's affirmation that we have turned a corner. We came back from down 2 scores multiple times. That simply does not happen with the Browns we're used to watching. We mounted those comebacks due in large part to our exemplary rookie head coach and young QB who seems to be putting it all together. Those are the 2 most important pieces to building sustainable success in the NFL.

The optimism is about more than just scoring a lot of points last night. For a lot of us last night was affirmation that these are not the same old Browns.

Even the best teams lose games...we've put ourselves in a position where last night's slim loss wouldn't make or break the season. Now go win out and dismantle the Steelers along the way.

I think the media is realizing how good this team is and can be. You can't win them all and with how depleted our secondary is it's not all bad!

I’m very disappointed we lost, even though I expected to lose.

This game basically confirmed Baker can play well against great teams. That, in of itself, is a huge step forward.

The next step, though, is winning 2/3 moving forward and cashing a playoff ticket. The season, now, is a failure without one.

The Browns reached the breaking point where us fans would be used to the team mailing it in, getting blown out, and moving on to next week. Except this time they fought back and had a chance to win the game.

Next step is finishing.

Culture is changing boys.

The Browns are still in a good spot. They can win out and be the 5 seed at worse. They can win 2 out of 3 and make the playoffs and they can still get in just beating an 0-13 team. The defense was a disaster, but we know what are weakness are and we can address them in the offseason. Our QB, who we had doubts about a few months ago now looks more like a franchise QB.

I am pissed about the game. Letting McSorely convert a 3rd and 10 is just unacceptable. But the above is all true and pointing it out doesn't mean we're just settling for moral victories. It's just acknowledging that despite a bitterly disappointing loss, we're still in good shape for this year and in the long term.

Sure, but it’s nowhere we haven’t been before.

Completely disagree. Went toe to toe with a team with legit Super Bowl aspirations who were fighting for their playoff lives and almost pulled it off missing our entire secondary. On top of that, even with the narrow defeat we have over an 80% chance to make to playoffs and it's December 15th.

I'm pretty sure you're my age iirc...so tell me, we've been here before?

I’m referring to moral victories, playing our arch rivals “close” and feeling good about ourselves.

Look, clearly a record this season is better than we’ve been in a long time and I acknowledge that.
But until we can beat Pittsburgh and Baltimore routinely, we aren’t where we want to be. I’m not sure that’s even arguable but just in case I’ll caveat it with it just being my opinion.

EDIT: everyones excited after the close loss so I’m not gonna harp on this too much anymore. I just think we’re still looking up at Baltimore and Pittsburgh, which maybe is to be expected witha first year HC and a lot of young pieces and, I guess, injuries (everyone has injuries).

If we finish the season beating Pitt I suppose it would make up for this game. Even if not, a playoff berth would be momentous, of course.

I feel more confident that the Browns beat Pittsburgh.
Steelers might look like they actually have an offense against the Browns, though.

Not the horseshit that the Ravens were doing.... just run, run, run, run.... QB running, pass up the middle, run, run, run, repeat.

James Conner sucks against every other team in the league, but he's good for 130 and 2 TDs against the Browns.
