MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL vs Ravens

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm surprised the media is going that route too but it's the same way I'm feeling.

It's not a moral victory. It's affirmation that we have turned a corner. We came back from down 2 scores multiple times. That simply does not happen with the Browns we're used to watching. We mounted those comebacks due in large part to our exemplary rookie head coach and young QB who seems to be putting it all together. Those are the 2 most important pieces to building sustainable success in the NFL.

The optimism is about more than just scoring a lot of points last night. For a lot of us last night was affirmation that these are not the same old Browns.

Even the best teams lose games...we've put ourselves in a position where last night's slim loss wouldn't make or break the season. Now go win out and dismantle the Steelers along the way.
Absolutely nailed it. This is exactly how I feel.

I dont know how anyone can feel confident that the browns beat the steelers after our defense being gashed left and right last night.

Did I see qualities that make me think this team can beat any NFL team? Sure. But I also saw a lot of qualities that make me think this team can lose to any team... including the Jets.

I dunno about the Jets. But we better take the Giants seriously.

There’s zero confidence in the defense, at all. So against any good team- not even great, just good- it’s going to be tough sledding.

I dont get it.

Did everyone fall asleep last week? Tennessee is a better team. They were the AFC title game team last year.

This is a game the Browns shod have won and they choked it.

The media talking about how good Baker was in a loss instead of why the team lost is maddening.

If That were Aaron Rodgers none of the Green Bay media is talking moral victories. Theyrw ripping the defense from top to bottom.

If you’re specifically talking about local media, we have crazy little brother syndrome.

In reality, neither the Steelers or Ravens are rivals at this point because the Browns never perform.

The Browns have not won jack shit yet. We haven’t made the playoffs in almost two decades.

Comparing our situation to Rodgers and Green Bay is nonsensical. Tennessee may be a better team than Baltimore (it’s close, either way) but the thing about the Browns is we are an up and coming team, so inconsistent performances where we beat a great team one week, and lose a nailbiter the next shouldn’t be a sky is falling situation. You have the Browns about two steps ahead of where they really are. They are overperforming people’s expectations, especially at the beginning of the year, hence why there’s optimism.

And Baker playing well IS something important to take note of, because really until this week there were still plenty of people wondering whether we should pursue an extension or not.

If Ward is coming back, I have faith they can contain the Giants offense. The Browns were able to handle the Eagles offense, I feel confident the Browns can do the same to the Giants offense as well.

There is 0 reason the Browns shouldn't go to New York and push their shit in. They are much better than both teams. Giants aren't good at all and the Jets are 2017 Browns bad. Maybe even worse, because they don't have a Myles Garrett.

Still shellshocked from the game.

If McSorley does not go down, surely he runs the 4th and 5 play.

Or if Lamar was 2 minutes longer in his change of shit-filled rat turd pants. Who plays QB?

For Lamar to come out at that moment, and in that situation....fuck me sideways.

The alignment of these events proves in my mind that there is other-worldly shit going on. The players are just pawns in some sick galactic battle that occurs in First Energy Stadium on the shores of Erie.

SNF cometh, feet are wet at night, under the bright lights of NYC, Stefanski.

Additionally, the only real difference between the Titans and Ravens games was turnovers.

The Browns built a huge lead on the Titans because they forced multiple turnovers early. Against the Ravens, no turnovers were forced.

It's really that simple. This defense isn't capable of forcing more than one or two punts a game against any team with a pulse.

Look at each time the Browns have faced a good team:

1st Ravens game: Lost turnover battle, lost the game
Colts game: Tied in turnovers, but had a pick 6 and won the red zone battle, won the game
Steelers game: Lost turnover battle, lost the game
Raiders game: Lost turnover battle, lost the game
Titans game: Won turnover battle, won the game
2nd Ravens game: Lost turnover battle, lost the game

This is the 2020 Browns. A playoff team capable of beating good teams *if* they win the turnover battle.

Did this shit a bit soon huh?

Luckily I kept the faith the whole game and I think I probably had a much better time enjoying it than you did.

You went right? How was it expierence wise?

I enjoyed it just fine. I just have tempered expectations of the Browns. You had already crowned them superbowl champs just because they were 9-3.

Reality is they are 0-3 against the ravens and steelers this year. Improved team but definitely deserving of the doubt.

I never crowned them shit.

Quit being a weird ass and tagging me when we're losing in a game like you're all pumped we're losing because it makes you "right".

I think it's perfectly clear now what this team is fully capable of.
