It's interesting how similar Barnes and Wagner are. Born within a month of each other, and nearly identical measurements. Both showed tantalizing potential, but struggled when asked to be #1 options offensively. Statistically (per-100):
Wagner: 23.2 points (59% true shooting), 12.2 boards, 5.6 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.9 blocks, 2.4 turnovers, 4.1 fouls
Barnes: 23.8 points (55% true shooting), 9.2 boards, 9.4 assists, 3.4 steals, 1.1 blocks, 5.7 turnovers, 5.0 fouls
Barnes averaged significantly more assists and turnovers, but I think that mainly reflects their different roles this season. Other than that, Barnes got somewhat more steals while Wagner was a little better in rebounds and blocks, but they're both ultra-versatile defenders. My draft rater projects Barnes at +2.85 impact and Wagner at +2.72, identical for all intents and purposes. I'd be thrilled to get either of them.
