2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not Browns related, but one of my draft hot takes might be that Sam Cosmi is LT2 behind Sewell.

This dude is so smooth, someone is going to get a plug and play starter at LT, and I'm desperately hoping its not the Steelers.

Look at where Cosmi was ranked in a lot of mocks. What did people have him, OT8?

I think Cosmi is comparable to someone like Jake Matthews or Eric Fisher.

The depth at tackle this year is ridiculous.

Just because I said it's possible doesn't mean I like it :)

No JOK in the first round, Elijah Moore still being on the board at 29, and Travis Etienne being the second RB off the board all seem very unlikely to me.
Do you think Javonte goes before Etienne?

What I like about Schrager's mocks is that it's 0% scouting and 100% predictive from feeling around with sources. The draft prop bettors fawn over it, but he did have Harrison Bryant in the first last year so who knows. Less chatter this year for sure.

Yeah, it's just another data point. I don't think this is very good, but people would say the same thing about my takes :chuckle:

This is around the time of day where I irrationally fall in love with one guy. :chuckle:

Watching Toney's tape, he is like the Nick Chubb of WR's.

Can't remember a recent WR prospect who had such ridiculous balance and vision in traffic. It is so fun to see guys just bounce off of him.

Not sure if he is on our radar.....but it looks genuinely special to see a guy with his quickness and yards after contact ability as a WR. Just seems so dynamic in small spaces.

For all the Najee to Pittsburgh chatter, I think Javonte would fit well there. He's well equipped to handle a poor offensive line situation. He's a good long bet to to be the first RB off the board, IMO

I wouldn't bet against Najee being the first RB off the board.

I'd bet on Trey Sermon being higher in the RB pecking order than people expect.

Although he fits some of the baseline requirements for a Browns pick, I wouldn't be happy if they went this way. He wasn't used downfield at all until last year and I think that's what we need out of any WR we put with Baker. A podcast I listened to yesterday compared Pitts to LeBron and Toney to J.J. Redick, feasting off of the off coverage. Gave me a chuckle.

Might as well just wait for Rondale Moore if this is the type of player we're after. He fits more in a SF-style offense.

Fun fact: in the past fifteen years, only one wide receiver who was a four year college student and drafted in the first round has had more than a single 1000 yard season. Dwayne Bowe.

I don't see this front office taking Toney.
I truly believe that DePo uses 'Breakout Age' or some kind of equivalent metric. Toney would be off-limits in that case

I 100% agree. I don't think Toney is an option for us.

I also just don't think he's good. If we're looking at a YAC slot guy at 26, Elijah Moore has to be the crown jewel, with Rondale Moore likely being ahead of Toney as well.

Shit, I might be talked into someone like Amon Ra St. Brown being better than Toney. I can't see Toney doing anything at the next level besides running a whip route.

That being said, I'm sure Toney is now going to be the next Tyreek Hill and make me look like a complete idiot

The thing with Toney is that it's entirely possible that he's good. Maybe even great.

But there's just no history of success with guys that match his production profile and projected draft capital, and I think that's a risk you don't take with a first round pick.

Also, just saw that Rondale Moore's picture on Player Profiler is Ant-Man. :chuckle:

I like Toney in like a Deebo Samuel role, running a ton of RPO and pre-snap motion. But he's not a feature receiver and doesn't really fit our M.O.

I would be shocked if the Browns take a receiver in the first round. The Sheldon Richardson cost-cutting move cemented that for me.

...but I am thrilled former Browns disaster Dwayne Bowe entered the conversation on draft day.

I'm still a big believer in Amon-Ra. I see him as a victim of the PAC 12 dip. Can do some Landry-type things and would be a fantastic replacement for him down the road. Just might not bring that field-stretching element to this year's offense like say, Tamorrion Terry or Jaelon Dardon might.
