2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Carolina has Sam Darnold.

No way Fields or Lance makes it down to their pick. Only way they get one of them is a trade up.

I am not sure i ever trade for Sam Darnold. I am not saying the book is written 100% Darnold is a bust, but probably 60% chance he is. Is Darnold good enough to pass up a chance at a QB like Lance or Fields who could be the #1 QB in other drafts?

Because that is what Carolina has to do, or they just wasted draft capitol on Darnold.

If the Browns end up with any of these Huskies, I'm a happy camper: Tryon, Onwuzurike, Elijah Molden, Keith Taylor Jr.

They run a 4-2-5 zone as their base defense and they do it well.

You always loved your pac 12 football. Joe Tyron reminds one of the good version of Ogbah but probably even a bit more upside.

They used to be overrated with Pete Carroll. Now they get certain positional prospects who are slept on because the conference isn't faring well in bowls.

When it comes to the draft, SEC and Big 10 send the most players to the pros... but PAC 12 is usually third, and at premium positions.

I feel like third is either PAC-12 or Clemson. Not the entire ACC... just Clemson :chuckle:

I keep going back to Berry's comments of impacting the passing game, which is where I think their first 2-3 picks will be focused on..

@Randolphkeys hit on a good point earlier: while JOK is listed as a LB, is that his true position? I've seen some reports that don't think he can make a transition to safety, but with what Woods wants to do the Browns could move him all around and they could be a "sub" defense with JOK even if he's their third LB on base sets...

I still don't believe the Browns will take a LB in the 1st, but with the limited stock to choose from if the Browns stay at 26, I could see them considering JOK because of his athletic profile, versatility and production over several years compared to other candidates...

With that said too, I think it's becoming increasingly more likely the Browns trade back with Horn/Surtain likely out of striking distance and there not being a lot of good options at 26...

And based off of what the Browns seem to prefer (multi-year starters with high production, no health/off-field concerns and good athletic profiles), there's not more than a couple guys who fit that at 26 and they're likely gone (Surtain/Horn/Ojulari)...

Ogbah is actually my ideal DE across from Myles. Sad things.

It's been a brutal year for PAC12 prospects. Between the lesser reputation before the pandemic, the limited schedule this past season, and the simple fact that they are usually super late on TV, nobody cares as much about those prospects. Hopefully, it will rebound but it's safe to say prospects in that conference are more dependent on big-time out-of-conference games than any other.

Yes, teams have scouts everywhere but if the players aren't getting the national attention it still goes into the echo chamber.

@Out of the Rafters at the Q is going to love this! Schrager with us going Campbell in his final mock. Generally regarded as the gold standard for mocks...

Pick 26 Cleveland Browns
Tyson Campbell
Georgia · CB

I think Cleveland goes corner -- or that's what I'm hearing, at least. This could be Campbell, Eric Stokes or whichever CB the team values most on its board. Caleb Farley could be the guy, too.

Not Browns related, but one of my draft hot takes might be that Sam Cosmi is LT2 behind Sewell.

This dude is so smooth, someone is going to get a plug and play starter at LT, and I'm desperately hoping its not the Steelers.

Just because I said it's possible doesn't mean I like it :)

No JOK in the first round, Elijah Moore still being on the board at 29, and Travis Etienne being the second RB off the board all seem very unlikely to me.
