I dont quite see Nash, but i do like Garland allot.

Nash played 4 years of college and was a late developer. Nash was also a better shooter than DG from the jump and one of the worst defenders I have ever seen, I think Garland can become a decent defender for his size, the effort is there and he has the athletic ability to defend pg's.

I dont see the comparison, but its not a knock against Nash or Garland, just different players.

Garland has great handles and good vision. If he develops into more of a killer in crunch time, i see Lillard. But only if he develops that killer instinct. In general play comparisons are difficult.
I like that you see a little Dillard in DG. I don't but given time, who knows? Dillard is a shorter version of Michael Jordan, to me.

Garland was actually a better defender slightly than Sexton this season but that probably has something to do with who he is guarding lol

Lillard has simular handles, its hard to compare to be honest. Dame is a killer for sure, but from a handles point of view and shooting eraly in Dame's career....but now Dame is a killer and 2nd best shooter.

Ever? Really? Garland is the only 18/6 on 40% from 3 sophomore ever?
Yeah I kinda forgot to mention age within that qualifier, it should be at age 21. I'm in no way saying he'll be in the same stratosphere as Steph (Steph was drafted at age 21) but we have to paitent with DG and see what he turns into.

Are you suggesting that there is even a chance Garland can be an all time great here? I think this is a mistake and people are kidding themselves. He is nowhere close to Curry at the same age as a shooter.,as a passer and ball handler maybe as a shooter which is what makes Curry great no.

Steph had 5.8 assists his sophomore year, and he only shot 44% from 3. Clearly since Garland is younger he is much better than Steph. I mean 2 MVP's and 3 titles is Garlands floor not ceiling, lmao.

Not a dig on you, actually very interesting for anyone that thinks stats are the only thing to look at, lol.

Did you even read the post you responded to?

Also, even though their numbers are similar, I agree Garland isn't in the same universe as Curry shooting-wise. However, his passing and ball-handling surpass what Curry was doing at the same age.

After much internal debate, I've concluded that he does not, and therefore have not engaged :chuckle:

Garland's plus passing will be unlocked further as we (hopefully) begin to add some more actual NBA talent at the wings. Okoro was a nice start. He runs the break and he began to make offensive cuts much more aggressively as the season went on. Adding 1-2 more athletic guys who are 6'7"-6'9"(looking squarely at Kuminga, Barnes, and Cade) that can run the break and make cuts on offense will unlock even more of Garlands plus passing game.

Eh I'm not saying all that, lmao, I just feel we should be paitent. I feel like he is really special as a passer.

I agree with this.

If something really scary happens on lottery night and we slipped to 8 or 9, I'm opening my heart to guys like Wagner and Kai Jones solely because I believe Garland has game changing passing ability that he's only beginning to tap into
