2021 Trade Ideas and Deadline talk!

I have a couple of questions for those suggesting a trade for Marte. What do we do with Amed who is our CFer going forward? Certainly Chernoff wouldn't block Miller and/or Freeman would he? If Ketel plays SS then Gimenez, Arias, and a few others are blocked going forward as well. His bat would certainly be a boost, but how does he fit? Maybe then send Gimenez and/or Arias as part of the package?

My guess is any trade package has Amed part of it going back to Arizona..
Partially as the role Amed has is replaced by Ketel & the cost to pay Ketel is partially reduced by Amed going back. The budget has only so much space.

I kind of feel like a dum dum for missing it, but Amed or Gimenez going in a trade makes total sense. Maybe Arias, but I rather keep him I think.

He is a perfect sell "high" guy if you ask me.. If he can be a key piece in a mega deal - I'm definitely listening.

W/R to the DBax prospect targets.. a small group of three guys are easy to like a lot.. Alek Thomas as a "position player" with pitchers Blake Walston and Slade Cecconi for arms. The DBax also have the # 68 pick in the CBB round (two ahead of the Indians).. that could be interesting..

The foundation for the hypothetical deal, Plesac & Marte, would help both clubs.. So, we'll see..
 
I'd like to see Eddie dealt so that Naylor and HRam can get the lion's share of the corner spots. I'd like to see it happen before Luplow returns.
 
Next Ketel Marte deal.

Arizona gets: Nolan Jones, Andres Gimenez, choice of Scott Moss/Logan Allen.. How is that math? I think we would have to add/sweeten more.

Please clarify which LHP Logan Allen (Logan S = the older, in AAA at this point or Logan T = the younger, pitching for Lake County at this time)

Either way, not good enough for Arizona to say yes..
BTV has CLE short by a lot. 74.1 vs 47.3 (using the higher value Logan T). Even short adding Amed Rosario. 74.1 vs 60.8

I meant S. but how about both? I knew it would come up short, didn't think by that much. I was trying to think of tradeable MLB or close too..

How about Plesac, Jones, Gimenez and Moss? Maybe the D-backs add in M.Kelly or something.

Tribe still a little short. Marte & M Kelly = 79.4 Plesac/ Jones/ Gimenez/ Moss = 76.7

Still think Amed Rosario is part of a trade out if K Marte sent here (mostly to reduce the $$$ budget issues) He is worth 13.5 per BTV at this point..

He (Amed) is also one of our best hitters at the moment. I don't think you can trade him unless you are 90%+ convinced this is just a hot flash and not a "breakout".. Pretty fascinated with watching this unfold, everchanging landscape so who knows how things will be looking in 2-3 weeks.

One step forward and two steps back with this one, in my opinion so I say no to this one. I don't see how we can afford to trade Plesac at this time.

Don't misunderstand: I'd prefer to hold onto Amed at this point, but tell me how they navigate the budget to add Ketel Marte & his contract for this year & the next 3 seasons. This is where the CLE FO has done a great job for years ... working within the parameters they were given.

Its for the monetary reasons I think Mitch Haniger is better target for the Tribe. Fills a need now & next season without as much of a impact on the budget..

I like Haniger, but how does he fit into a corner OF that has Naylor, Rosario, Luplow and to a lesser extend H.Ramirez in it?.. Unless you trade.. Naylor maybe? Marte takes over CF now and E.Rosario's salary next season. In 2022, throw Amed in LF and run with Arias/Freeman at 2nd/SS? Or Amed at 2nd or SS?

So many possibilities.
