From 2014-2018, Demario Davis averaged 12.7 missed tackles per game.

In 2019, he only missed six.

Will Mack Wilson improve to the point where he's a quality linebacker that sticks around with this team long-term? I doubt it.

Is the declarative statement "you don't fix missed tackles" accurate? Of course fucking not. Shit, you have Denzel Ward on your team--you had Demario Davis on your roster previously. You've witnessed these things first-hand.

Doubling down with weak-ass answers about "not in your 3rd year" isn't the way to go about it either.

Pretty much anything that boils down to technique can be fixed.

Doesn't mean it will be, but it's possible.

No you can’t. And not in your 3rd year when you’ve sucked at tackling since college. He is what he is at this point.

You can’t improve tackling form?

That’s a scientific fact I wasn’t aware of I guess.

C’mon, say this out loud to yourself and try not to laugh. You can improve anything you set your mind to, it’s about the work you put in and the method.

I’m not saying he will improve, but your position is absurd.

We don’t need silly takes because you don’t like Mack Wilson, he may never develop the consistency, but don’t say you can’t improve tackling consistency, it’s just patently false.

I mean, odds are Mack Wilson just sucks and won’t be fixing any missed tackle issues…

I personally don't think Wilson's primary problem is poor tackling technique, which I agree is fixable to some extent. I think his greater problem is poor instincts. He misreads plays, takes wrong steps, etc., and is out of position and/or taken out of plays too easily. I'm not at all sure that is fixable to a significant degree.

100% accurate. He was able to get away with it against lower competition in college. He’s overmatched in the NFL

Great point. In college he could make up for it with his athleticism. In the NFL, you have to make the right read, and a lot of that is instincts. To many times I have seen him just take the wrong angle that puts you in bad tackling position.

Ultimately this is dead on. But i love his attitude and I hope he goes out there and proves us wrong and wins a roster spot in the preseason. Is it possible? Sure, but if i had to put my own hard earned money on it? No fucking way.
