So you would also be against the Blues and Naps, yes?
Not necessarily. My point wasn't that any former team name should be automatically eliminated from consideration, but that these ballclubs from a century and a half ago aren't relevant. My current list of preferences for what it's worth:

1. Guardians
2. Blues
3. Foresters

Nothing else that I have heard or that the Indians have challenged the trademark for do anything for me.

so being as I am not from cleveland, and before COVID only visited once a year.... is there some massive amount of forests in the area i dont know about?

Im not saying im against the forester idea, but it seems like a reach into the far past, for a peice of history not a whole lot of people knew about

There's a lot of metroparks, including the largest metropark in the country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Metroparks

Unfortunately, Park Place is already taken.

You're right in that people probably wouldn't give the city that nickname today.

Smokey has a dad bod.

It's incredible to me how overlooked Cuyahoga Valley National Park is by people here in Northeast Ohio. A true gem that should be celebrated more on a local level.
When I lived there I loved that park, beautiful in the fall.

I think the disconnect (even for me) is we tend to equate forest to pine trees and/or mountains. Head south - go out to Hunting Valley, etc and you are in the trees really quick.

I’m from the Youngstown area and it’s about maybe a 50-60 min drive for me and I still make it a point to get to CVNP at least twice a month. It’s an absolute gem.

I'm very lucky to live less than five minutes from both the CVNP and Brecksville Reservation of the Cleveland MetroParks. Wife and I have taken advantage of the mild weather the past few Saturdays and biked the towpath. So relaxing and beautifully scenic. We love taking our dog for weeknight strolls in both areas as well.

I think it is less people saying that old names should matter as it looking at the criteria the Indians themselves stated publicly, and just seeing what qualifies.

Yes the Brecksville reservation was quite nice indeed.
