2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was hoping he’d sneak under the radar and we could steal him, but that’s looking unlikely. The dude is a stud, flat out. Kinda reminds me in build to Jimmy Butler a little bit? He’s not the tallest as a wing but he can get really low on his drives and then quickly change direction or explode upwards.

I like Wendell Moore Jr too. Think he is a perfect system player for one that values ball movers and not ball stoppers. He'll slip because of his age down towards where the Cavs pick in the 1st or 2nd, depending on who comes out.

Duke has a lot of intriguing wing prospects, between Banchero, Griffin, Moore, and even Trevor Keels.

I'm actually good if we stop season right now and the Cavs end up with Tankathon's draft haul haha. Cavs end as a 4/5 seed and grab Keels, Moore, and Michael Foster from the Ignite team. I'd take it!

I'm gonna get side-eyed a bit, buy I'm still looking at Max Christie as my guy for the Cavaliers.

His game and the way he moves just seems to fit. He has been good at shooting off catches or creating his own shot. He moves without the ball. He's playing for Izzo so he knows about defense. He's had a bad year at MSU, but I still take a chance on a 6'7" shooter/scorer.

Post Rubio injury I think we will end up picking a lot higher than the end of the first round, possibly into the teens…

I dont think the Cavs FO will want to sit around and wait to lose games... they will make a move to replace Rubio and it sounds like Rondo is a target... I just hope whichever veteran we get is willing to take the same role...

We are getting Rondo but I think Rubio was pretty irreplaceable for this team in terms of his winning impact. I’m not suggesting we will fall into the lottery but my over/under on this teams wins this year fell pretty sharply in those five seconds where Rubios knee blew up…

It's a shame Mathurin played himself completely out of the range where we could possibly go up and get him. His profile doesn't really strike me as a star- no in between game so he's probably going to struggle some in self-creation. But with his athleticism and 3 point shot, he's a ready made 3rd or 4th option and a potential high level role player and a borderline star, say a more offensive-minded Mikal Bridges level, if his defense hits his potential. He's actually kind of shockingly like Ben McLemore to me in the general size/athleticism/shot profile, hopefully he has his head on straight unlike Ben.

Also, I googled Mathurin and McLemore and funny enough look what I came up with:

Mathurin, who joined Devin Booker and Ben McLemore as the only high major freshmen since 2007-08 to shoot 80 percent at the free-throw line, 67 percent at the rim and 41 percent from beyond the arc.

i remember when mclemore could shoot 3s. looks like he has found his shot again this season. at 45% in his last 10 games!

Johnny davis is my favorite among the 2 guards in this draft. His shooting is what we sorely miss from that 2 guars spot

I like him, Ivey and Mathurin as my early hopefuls….But we probably got to get closer around the 10th spot to have a chances at any of those 3……I wonder if packaging both our 2s along with our firsts can move us that far ?
